Index Methodology

How ReportUltra dossiers are numbered, grouped and labeled.

The ReportUltra index is the catalog of every dossier we publish. This page explains how entries are numbered, how sectors and volumes work, and what the label "illustrative" means. The index is an organizing tool. It is not a ranking, a rating or a market indicator.

Numbering

Dossiers carry a running number in order of publication, written with a hash and three digits. The launch edition spans #073 through #084, twelve dossiers in all, with #084 the most recent. Numbers are never reused or reordered. If a dossier is substantially revised, the revision is noted on the page and the number stays the same, so a citation to a dossier always points to the same item.

Sectors

Each dossier belongs to one primary sector, which helps readers browse by interest:

  • Deep Tech & Sovereign Grid
  • Synthetic Bio
  • Enterprise Architecture
  • Global Logistics
  • Defense & Cyber
  • Macro Infrastructure
  • Sovereign Capital
  • Executive Briefs

Many topics cross sector lines. A dossier on data-center power touches both the grid and enterprise architecture, but it is filed where its central question sits. Sector pages list the dossiers in that category, newest first.

Volumes and the archive

Dossiers are grouped into volumes. The launch edition forms the first volume. As new dossiers are added, earlier ones move into the archive, where they remain available at the same address. We do not delete dossiers. If one proves wrong or outdated, we annotate it instead of removing it, in line with our corrections policy.

What "illustrative" means

All launch-edition dossiers are labeled illustrative. The label means that the dossier is an analytical scenario built from general public knowledge, not original reporting. It signals that no interviews, leaks or proprietary data were used, and that any figure shown is either widely known context or flagged as an illustrative figure. When future dossiers are built with primary research, they will say so explicitly, and the label will be dropped only where it no longer applies.

No scores or ratings

We do not assign scores, grades, rankings or risk ratings to companies, countries, assets or sectors. Some dossiers include a single scenario variable, such as a concentration level, to frame the discussion. That is a descriptive label and not a measurement or a recommendation.
