Corrections Policy

How ReportUltra handles errors, and how to report one.

Errors happen, including in careful work. What matters is how quickly they are acknowledged and how visibly they are fixed. This policy explains what we correct, how we do it, and how you can tell us about a mistake.

What we correct

We correct factual errors, misleading framing, broken or mislabeled content, and any statement that implies more evidence than the work contains. Because the launch-edition dossiers are illustrative scenarios, we also treat any wording that could be read as original reporting, or as a claim of confirmed data, as an error to fix.

How to report an error

Email the editors at [email protected]. Please include:

  • The dossier number or page address.
  • The exact sentence or figure you believe is wrong.
  • What you think is correct, and a public source if you have one.

You do not need to be an expert, and a short note is enough. We read every message sent to that address.

What happens next

The editors will review the report, check the point against public information, and decide whether a change is needed. We aim to acknowledge reports within a few working days, although we make no promise about speed for complex questions. If we disagree, we will say why.

How corrections appear

Minor fixes, such as typos and formatting, are made quietly. Anything that changes meaning is noted on the page with a short description of what changed and when. We do not silently rewrite substantive claims, and we do not delete dossiers to hide an error. The dossier keeps its number, and the correction stays visible.

Why we publish corrections

Readers use analysis like ours to think through decisions, so an uncorrected error can compound. A visible record of changes also lets you judge how we behave when we are wrong, which says more about a publication than any claim of accuracy. We would rather be seen fixing a mistake than be assumed never to make one.

Retractions

If a dossier cannot be repaired because its central premise is unsound, we will mark it as retracted, explain why, and leave the page available so that earlier citations still resolve.

Disagreement is not error

A scenario that you find unlikely is not necessarily wrong. Scenarios show what could follow from stated assumptions. If you think an assumption is unreasonable, tell us, and we will consider whether it needs more explanation or revision.

Our analysis is not a recommendation to buy or sell anything.
