Alabama Investigation Concludes After Homicide Suspect Dies At Scene Following Apparent Medical Emergency
An Alabama homicide investigation ended under highly unusual circumstances after authorities concluded that a man accused of killing a woman died from an apparent heart attack while allegedly attempting to conceal her body in a remote wooded area.
According to investigators, Daniel Robbins allegedly killed Jessica Folds during a domestic dispute before transporting her body in a pickup truck to a secluded location. Authorities believe Robbins intended to leave the body in a wooded ditch, but the plan was never completed after he suffered a fatal medical emergency at the scene.
The case came to light when a passerby noticed an unattended pickup truck parked on a rural dirt road.
Investigators said the vehicle’s engine was still running, and the driver’s door had been left open. Concerned that something was wrong, the passerby looked into the nearby wooded area and discovered two people lying in a ditch before calling emergency services.
Deputies initially treated the scene as a possible double homicide.
