The Blood of Dawnwalker features three romanceable characters, each offering engaging narrative arcs and memorable scenes. Interestingly, the game does not restrict you to just one partner—you can fully romance all three without facing any negative story consequences. However, to avoid missing key dialogue choices or locking yourself out of a relationship, follow the essential steps and choices outlined below.
1. Anka (The Herbalist)
You meet Anka during the prologue. To win her over, stick by her side during the Latin lessons and help her gather herbs.
Between the Words: When brewing tea for Anka, choose the option: “It’s my pleasure”. Later in the same quest, select: “Your feelings towards me, they’re more than just faith, aren’t they?”
Where Old Devils Lie & Stronger than Achilles:
By the mountain pool, pick the white dialogue option: “Something troubling you?” followed by “I care about you” and “I’m enjoying your company too”.
During Stronger than Achilles, volunteer to stick your hand into the trial yourself instead of making Anka do it. When Anka reveals her desire for the Font, express deep commitment: “I do anything for you… I love you, Cohen”.
Tip: Whether you or Anka ultimately use the Font doesn’t break the romance, but taking it for yourself grants a hidden passive perk that provides automatic HP regen during the day.
Finalizing the Romance: In the subsequent conversation, select: “I beg to differ, this thing between us…”, then “Anka, enough with caution, let’s do something fun for once”, and finally close with: “Screw decency, I want you too” to trigger the romance scene.
2. Lakra (The Vampire)
Lakra is an independent female vampire who aids your journey. Her questline begins via A Friend Like This (triggered through soldier camps or after defeating Ambrose).
The Song of the Mountain & Hive and Seek: When Lakra invites you to feed on a human together, agree to build early rapport. Choices during these quests are flexible and do not heavily impact the romance.

You can veer off the critical path to find an extra memory (even if Lakra disapproves). If you do, make sure to apologize afterward by selecting: “I’m sorry for going in there, I shouldn’t have done that”.
At the end of the quest, choose to invite someone into yourself (or let Lakra do it; this choice is flexible).
Finalizing the Romance: During the final quest, Night of Horrors, after consuming the Mandrake flower with Lakra (which also grants a hidden perk), drink Lakra’s blood and select the Kiss her option to unlock the graphic scene.
3. Merit / Craig (Rebellion Leader)
Romancing Merit requires extra care because a few missteps can permanently lock you out of his path.
Raise Infamy: You must complete side activities for the rebellion (such as destroying Ambrose’s blood barrels or freeing prisoners) to raise your infamy status to Notorious.
What Moves the Dead: After saving Merit from the boss fight, choose to go back to the hideout with him, then agree to help him remove his armor and patch him up: “Sure, I’ll take care of it”.
Distant Shadows: When visiting Tenturi town, step in to help Ascar when the soldiers are harassing him.
Finalizing the Romance: After Merit leaves the city in anger, meet him outside the city at night during A Closer Look. Chat with him and pick the precise dialogue option: “Hey, nothing you say can change the way I see you… The real Merit shines through… Frankly, I prefer that guy”. Merit will attempt to kiss you—simply kiss him back to lock in the romance.
All three characters can be romanced in a single playthrough, and they may even make appearances in the game’s epilogue depending on your choices!
