Grab a shovel, head out from Lia Gate, and follow this step-by-step roadmap to become an absolute powerhouse early on:
Phase 1: Weapons, Manuals & Medallions (Briar Slouse & Rock Falls)
Swiftness Manual (Stellion Redoubt): Start by heading to the bandit camp just west of the Stellion Redoubt shrine. Crouch, use a quick save, and steal the swiftness manual from the highlighted treasure chest without engaging anyone.
Legendary Sword – Durandal (Coward’s Path): Head west from the Coward’s Path shrine at night. Use Shadow Step to scale the wall to the left, navigate past the mysteriously non-aggressive wolves, and crouch-loot the legendary Durandal sword from the yellow-highlighted chest. (Note: It requires level 11 to equip, but you can grab it right away!)
Arbiter’s Medallion (Waterfall Cave): Travel south to the waterfall location. Drop down and enter the hidden cave behind the waterfall to loot a massive amount of silver and the crucial Arbiter’s Medallion.
Legendary Greaves (Rock Falls): Locate the kobold nest in Rock Falls. Hug the left wall while crouching, quick-save, and loot the chest to get your legendary greaves, then wolf-form sprint away.
Legendary Chest Piece (Rock Falls South): Approach the bandit camp south of your previous location from the left side. Stealthily steal the treasure map from the chest, track it to the center of the marker, and dig under the rocks to uncover your legendary chest piece.
Legendary Bracers / Gloves (Rock Falls Cave): Approach the hidden cave area from the south. Quick-save, ignore the passive wolves, and spam Shadow Step to slip in, grab the bracers, and escape safely.
Phase 2: Combat Manuals & Rings (Mars, Sentina’s Grove & Tantari)
Adrenaline Rush Manual (Eol Shrine, Mars): Southeast of the Eol shrine, wait for the patrolling enemies to move away from the treasure stash. Steal the shovel and the Adrenaline Rush manual (which boosts your damage after using active abilities—perfect for a swordmaster build).
Sentina’s Grove Manuals: Visit the two soldier camps south of the Suga Marsh shrine and east of the Woodland Outpost shrine. Use quick-saves, slip in behind the tents while remaining undetected, and steal the chests.
Nightly Ring (Tantari Bog): Head just north of the Tantari Bog shrine and dig up the specified grave. Watch out for nearby patrols.
Arbiter’s Ring (Tantari Woods): Head to the extreme southern kobold nest in Tantari Woods. Hug the left wall while crouching and loot the Arbiter’s Ring from the nest structure.
Phase 3: The Final Piece — Legendary Boots
Ancient Footwear (Xanthther’s Excavations: Bloody Dagger quest): This is the only piece of gear where combat cannot be entirely avoided.
Fight through the initial group of enemies in the room.
Defeat the minor boss encounter.
During the day, examine the corpse and exhaust all dialogue options to acquire the dagger.
Use the dagger to break the seal on the locked chest in the room to claim your Ancient Footwear.
Once you finish this setup, your character will be completely overpowered, letting you breeze through the rest of The Blood of Dawnwalker with ease!
