‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ recently aired its final episode. The show featured two major cameos and concluded most of its storylines, yet left ample room for a potential second season.

One storyline that might evolve in season 2 is the relationship between Osha and Qimir. This potential romance was hinted at in Episode 6 when Headland confirmed the show’s intention to pair them. Following the events of the finale, Jacinto also confirmed that the show strongly suggests a romantic connection between the two.

While the potential relationship has been developed on-screen through looks and subtle hints, Jacinto revealed in his interview with Vulture that they filmed a scene for the final episode that included a kiss. However, it was cut for being inappropriate and perhaps too rushed given the context of the episode’s events.

I’m just going to put it out there. There was a version that we filmed where Osha and the Stranger actually kiss. […] But we felt that it may have not been too earned at that moment. I think it was just too early on.

The Stranger killed a bunch of her friends, and she just killed her fatherlike figure [Sol],” he explained. “For them to have this sensual moment just didn’t feel like it was appropriate. It’s just on the cutting-room floor. But I suggested, ‘Maybe not the kiss, but how about a hand-hold?’ Some sort of wanting to console, some sort of physicality that expresses that he cares for her and feels for her and that they’re in this together now. That’s something that, if we do a Season 2, maybe we can work toward, if the fans want it.

Fans are definitely eager for more of Qimir and Osha, which is one of the reasons they have taken to social media to demand a second season of ‘The Acolyte.’ However, Leslye Headland hinted at a darker turn for Osha and Qimir. Her well-timed Darth Plagueis cameo undermines their moment and relationship, as the showrunner herself stated, “there can only be two.”
