The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 ends with a shocking twist that will feel eerily familiar to anyone who watched season 2, replicating the basic storyline while adding legal implications for Mickey Haller. Based on the titular book series by Michael Connelly, the top-notch defense attorney Mickey Haller has faced intense legal battles that get solved by his creative solutions and legal prowess. Netflix’s legal drama combines an overarching narrative with a case-of-the-week format, keeping the story fresh and fast-paced.
While the smaller cases are interesting, the trials that last an entire season have a more significant impact on The Lincoln Lawyer’s characters, especially Mickey and his team. Like in past seasons, the defense attorney vigorously defended his client, coming out on top. However, also like season 2, Mickey didn’t stay on top for long after his big win. The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 ended with a major twist, taking inspiration from the previous finale but in a more impactful way.
Sam’s Shocking Death Repeats The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2’s Glory Days Twist
Mickey Has A Professional Connection To Both The Victims In The Finales
At the end of The Lincoln Lawyer season 2, Glory Days unexpectedly dies, giving Mickey Haller a unique connection to the court case. He previously represented the woman for her sex work and drug possession charges. The third season’s ending repeats the shocking reveal of Mickey having an abnormal connection to the victim.

Instead of Glory, the client who shows up dead is The Lincoln Lawyer’s Sam Scales, a con artist Mickey has represented on and off since taking over Jerry Vincent’s law practice. Unlike Glory Days, Mickey doesn’t have a positive relationship with Sam Scales. He views the scammer as a nuisance and nearly drops him as a client. The man also refuses to pay Mickey’s law firm in The Lincoln Lawyer 3, causing extra animosity between the pair.
Mickey Being Framed For Sam’s Murder Makes The Lincoln Lawyer Season 3’s Twist Even Worse
Mickey Will Have No Choice But To Get Involved In The Upcoming Trial
Glory Days showing up dead seemed like it would be Mickey’s biggest test in The Lincoln Lawyer because of his emotional involvement, but at least then, he had a degree of separation. Mickey had a choice of whether to involve himself in the murder trial. He could have walked away from Julian La Cosse and faced zero repercussions.
Unfortunately, Mickey has zero choice but to be involved in the trial for Sam Scales’ murder in The Lincoln Lawyer season 4 because he’s the defendant. Someone has gone to great lengths in order to frame him, and he has to prove who, why, and how if he hopes to go free. Moreover, the verbal altercation between Mickey and Sam Scales in The Lincoln Lawyer season 3 could make him look even more guilty.
The Lincoln Lawyer hasn’t been renewed for season 4 yet as of the date of publication.
