Of course, the forced duel between Sol, Torbin (Dean-Charles Chapman), and the Wookiee Jedi Kelnacca (Joonas Suotamo) was a tense highlight of the episode, as Kelnacca was possessed by the coven and went on a rampage. Still, Carrie-Anne Moss’ Master Indara arguably had an even bigger impact on the episode and the story overall. In The Acolyte’s pilot, Indara proved she was a strong and calculated warrior. She fought against Mae (Amandla Stenberg) with precision, saved the lives of innocents, and sacrificed herself in the process while using her lightsaber sparingly, as any Jedi would. Clearly, though, Master Indara was hiding an even greater power all along.
Master Indara Is Able To Resist An Entire Coven Of Witches

Unlike Torbin, Kelnacca, and even Sol – whose emotional instability likely would have made him an easy target for possession, though Kelnacca’s physical prowess was clearly what the witches were after – Indara’s mind was properly fortified. She was so in tune with the Force, in fact, so certain of her place within it, that she proved to be the most powerful being there. She was even more powerful than the entire coven combined.
The Effort Of Fighting Master Indara’s Power Literally Kills The Coven
It wasn’t just that Master Indara was able to free Kelnacca from the witches’ control. By forcing them to release their hold on Kelnacca, she somehow severed the witches’ connection to their magic and the Force, killing every single one of them in the process. As Mother Aniseya explained in The Acolyte episode 3, “Destiny,” the witches viewed the Force as a Thread. “Pull the Thread. Change everything. It ties you to your destiny. It binds you to others.”Indara’s efforts ripped that Thread apart, destroying the coven’s connection to one another so severely it was enough to kill them.
Though it’s unlikely Master Indara genuinely meant to harm every single witch in one fell swoop, as she was the one primarily advocating to leave them and the twins alone, it still proves just how powerful a well-trained, balanced, and emotionally stable Jedi Master can be on their own. The coven’s power was impressive, but Master Indara’s connection to the Force in Star Wars: The Acolyte proved to be even greater.
The Acolyte‘s season finale airs this Tuesday exclusively on Disney+.
