Warning: SPOILERS ahead for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2, episode 1!A preview trailer for The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 has been released, teasing what to expect from The Book of Carol following its harrowing debut episode. Daryl Dixon season 2 began with new revelations for the story, with Daryl (Norman Reedus) going against the Nest’s wishes by attacking the Pouvoir as Carol (Melissa McBride) searches for a way to France. The episode ends with Carol and her new friend, Ash (Manish Dayal), flying to France in his plane, while the Nest’s Losang (Joel de la Fuente) makes cryptic plans for Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi) and his future.
Now, The Walking Dead (via WotNot) has released a new trailer, containing plenty of exciting details for the episodes to come. The trailer showcases scenes from across the new season, teasing Daryl and Isabelle (Clémence Poésy) questioning the Nest’s role in Laurent’s development. In the meantime, Carol and Ash seemingly crash-land in Greenland, meeting new survivors and facing unseen dangers along the way. However, it appears the secondary protagonist will make it to Paris at a near point in the show’s future.
The trailer also hints Laurent has been captured by someone, as Daryl is surrounded by enemies on a stairwell. He also encounters Anna (Lukerya Ilyashenko) in an unknown location, while Carol is seemingly kidnapped by Genet (Anne Charrier). Codron (Romain Levi) also appears, injured, saying Genet intends to kill Daryl. Various action sequences also flash by, including the use of cannons and Ash being chased by fast zombies outside the Nest. Daryl brings his fist down on an unseen enemy as the trailer ends. What The Daryl Dixon Weeks Ahead Trailer Means For Season 2
Daryl & Carol Have A Major Journey Ahead
While Daryl Dixon season 2’s characters are starting at plenty of different points around the world, the latest trailer teases their eventual convergence as Carol seeks out her missing friend. It also appears Daryl and Losang will be butting heads more directly soon too, first hinted at with their disagreement about how much of a pacifist Laurent should really be raised as. The new trailer offers hints of major, complex scenarios to come, potentially pitting the protagonist and his allies against multiple groups across France.
As for Carol, her harrowing journey with Ash is already confirmed to end with her in Paris, potentially meeting with Daryl there if he returns to the city. Given the positive reviews for Daryl Dixon season 2’s premiere, her standout appearance means plenty of additional, engaging development is on the horizon. This includes her run-in with the Pouvoir, Genet likely discovering her connection to the American she’s hunting. Her capture could be what leads to their reunion, or it could be a threat after the fact, forcing Daryl to choose whether France or America is his real home.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon has already been renewed for season 3, with Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride confirmed to reprise their roles as Daryl and Carol.
