The actor told ‘InStyle’ that the couple “certainly talks” about their time on the shows.
Adam Brody and Leighton Meester may have starred in two of the most iconic coming-of-age shows of the early 2000s, but that doesn’t mean they’ve watched them together.
Meester, 38, starred as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, and Brody, 44, played Seth Cohen on the O.C.
Speaking to InStyle recetnly, Brody was asked if he and his now-wife ever “reminisce together or go back and rewatch the shows.”
“We don’t watch it,” he admitted, while acknowledging that may change in the future.”Who knows, when our kids are older, if they want to, then maybe we’ll take that trip with them.”
Brody added that the couple does discuss their time on the shows, however, telling the magazine: “But, we certainly talk about it. Not the characters — I mean, occasionally — but more about the experiences.”
“We do have a lot in common,” he continued. “In some ways, almost nobody could understand it more than her and vice versa. And a lot of people involved were the same people, so there’s just a lot of overlap.”
Brody and the Gossip Girl star tied the knot in 2014. Since then, the couple has welcomed two children together: daughter Arlo, 9, and a son, 4, whose name has not yet been revealed.
Speaking about their decade-long marriage in a recent appearance on Today with Hoda and Jenna to promote his new Netflix series, Nobody Wants This, Brody chalked up the couple’s success to listening and being with “someone good.”
“Be lucky and be in love with someone who’s great and then just kind of listen to them,” he shared.
He continued: “If you’re with someone great, you’re on third base. Not that it doesn’t take sacrifice and humility and you have to grow together and you have to be willing to grow, because you’re not going to be able to stay 100 percent right where you are. But if you’re with someone wonderful, I think you’re on third base.”
