The Star Wars universe is full of all kinds of alien creatures, some of which would be perfect for the big screen or a TV show.
Star Wars fans have been introduced to countless alien species throughout the life of the franchise.
From the ferocious Krayt dragons to the harmless Dewbacks, all manner of creatures have appeared in almost every movie or TV series, but there is always room for more.
Here are a few examples of creatures that exist in the Star Wars canon, both modern and Legends, that would be great additions to future installments of the franchise.
Vornskr
Native to the planet Myrkr, Vornskrs are canines with a unique ability to sense the Force, which greatly enhances their hunting skills.
Though the ability originally evolved in them to track their favorite prey, the ysalamiri, lizard-like tree-dwellers known for their ability to repel the Force by creating a Force-neutral bubble, the side effect of such heightened senses led the vornskrs to consider Force-sensitive individuals a delicacy.
Their addition to the current canon would make them a feared opponent for any Jedi or Sith.
Droch
Drochs are tiny insectoid creatures that burrow under the skin of their unsuspecting victims and drain their life energy and intelligence.
This ability allows Drochs to become more intelligent as they age, even becoming sentient at one point. They would be a great addition to, say, a horror-themed episode of The Mandalorian or any other TV show.
And they are already indirectly part of the canon, with the corpse of a Cerulean Droch appearing in the background of 2018’s Solo: A Star Wars Story.
Waru
A trans-dimensional being from a parallel universe to that of the Galaxy Far Far Away, Waru would be a great place for the Star Wars creators to introduce the concept of parallel realities, if they so choose.
Terentatek
Ancient creatures that feed on the blood of Force-sensitive individuals, Tereranteks first appeared in the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic video game.
They were reintroduced into current canon when mentioned by an illusory Count Dooku in episode 12 of season 6 of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Although most of them have been exterminated, they may appear in Star Wars properties that explore the past of the universe, such as the upcoming series The Acolyte.
Truly legendary creatures, an encounter with one would undoubtedly provide an action-packed battle for viewers to feast their eyes on.
