DANIEL Jones’ $160 million contract extension with the New York Giants is proving one of the worst deals in NFL history.
Since signing the lucrative deal in March 2023, the Giants quarterback has incredibly thrown more pick-sixes than touchdown passes.

During the NFL season-opener against the Minnesota Vikings, Jones had a miserable performance in the 28-6 defeat on home turf.
The struggling quarterback went just 21 of 40 for 181 yards and no touchdowns.
Even more worrying was that he threw a pick-six – an interception returned for a touchdown.
With that error, Jones has thrown three picks-sixes since his $160 million contract extension – and just two touchdown passes.
As noted by ProFootballTalk, three other quarterbacks who have thrown at least three pick-sixes in the last two years – Sam Howell, Mac Jones, and Bryce Young.
But they have also thrown at least 10 touchdown passes in that timeframe.
The Giants are now 1-6 in games started by Jones over the last two years.
Head coach Brian Daboll said benching Jones “was not in my mind.”
But it seems the Giants could cut their losses on the quarterback if his form does not improve quickly.
As Jones left MetLife Stadium after the game, angry fans let him hear it.
Several whistled and jeered their starting QB while others referred to his hefty contract.
Referencing how much he is paid, one fan repeatedly yelled, “I need a million” at Jones.
Jones was asked about the treatment he received from the crowd during the game.
“It’s our job to give them something to cheer about and to play well, to execute,” he said.
NABERS: I’M TRYING TO MAKE A PLAY
Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers appeared to show signs of frustration at Jones after the game.
Nabers was asked if Jones looked for him enough against the Vikings.
He responded: “I mean I don’t know really what was going on back there.

“I’m getting out on my routes and just trying to make a play, trying to find a better throw for him to make.
“I was just doing my job, that’s all I can do.”
Many fans believe there is the potential for discord within the Giants dressing room this season.
“This is going to get UGLY FAST,” one fan said.
“Yeah he will curse DJ out by the 4th game,” another fan added.
“Translation. I was open every play but Jones is a walking trash can,” a third fan commented.
