Shannon Sharpe Interviews Megan Thee Stallion, And Apologizes For Past Remarks

Shannon Sharpe received flak on social media after he went head to head with a barrage of tweets accusing him of being anti-black. The war of words began on September 25, with the former NFL player defending his comments about WNBA star Caitlyn Clark.

An X user under the handle @ungodlywests and a Megan The Stallion profile picture entered the conversation with a sarcastic tweet after Sharpe said he had no issues with his remarks about WNBA players. Sharpe responded to @ungodlywests’s tweet with:

“Why are you one my page? Don’t you have another horse 2 rob of his hair? Stop trying 2 kill my vibe.”

The tweet, which garnered over 6.2 million views at the time of this article, received immense backlash. The comments section was filled with people accusing him of being anti-black due to the use of his phrase “another horse 2 rob of his hair.”

Netizens claimed the tweet was allegedly misogynistic towards black women, while others argued he was dissing Megan Thee Stallion. The back-and-forth tweets between Shannon Sharpe and his critics followed for a while, with Sharpe claiming that his reply had nothing to do with Megan.

Shannon Sharpe finally concluded the argument with a PSA message on X that read:

“Sept 25 2024 at 6:06 pm. I will no longer respond 2 any negativity. It’s not the serious 4 me. I’ve got kids and I would upset with them IF* they responded in this manner. This is beneath me. Y’all pray 4 me tho.”

Shannon Sharpe apologized to Megan for an explicit joke

Shannon Sharpe Apologizes To Megan Thee Stallion For Sexual Comments On Podcast

On July 1, Shannon Sharpe hosted Megan Thee Stallion at Club Shay Shay days after she dropped her self-titled third album. Sharpe started the episode by apologizing to the rapper for s*xualizing her in a November 2023 episode of the Nightcap podcast.

“But I was always hoping that I got an opportunity to bump into you, because I made a comment — I think it was September or October — I told a joke, I said it in jest, but I believe the joke would have been just as funny had I left you out of it,” he said.

“So, for any unwanted attention, harm, shame, embarrassment that I caused you or your family, I want to say as a man as I sit here before you, that I apologize,” Shannon Sharpe added.

Megan accepted the apology and thanked him for his words. The two also toasted the rapper’s “amazing career.”

During the Nightcap episode in November 2023, Shannon Sharpe told fellow host Chad Ochocinco Johnson that he wanted to have Megan “stretched out like a quarter-to-three.” He continued to talk about the ways he would be intimate with her, saying he would “do it three ways, Ocho: deep, hard, and continuously…”

The clip was met with immense backlash. Sharpe addressed the outrage, apologizing on-air if Megan took offense to any of his words. The rapper did not respond to his initial comments or the apology until she appeared on his podcast in July 2024.

In other news, Shannon Sharpe recently courted controversy after his intimate moment with a woman was accidentally broadcast on his Instagram Live. On September 11, followers on Sharpe’s Instagram Live caught an earful as they heard a woman moaning and calling out his name throughout the explicit audio.

Shannon Sharpe, who originally claimed he was hacked, came clean in his podcast the following day and said he accidentally went live. He added that he was embarrassed that people heard something “extremely private.”
