AMC will premiere the second season of The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, subtitled The Book of Carol, on September 29, 2024. Fans are excited to see the continued story of Daryl (Norman Reedus) in France, and this season reintroduces Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier to TWDU. How many seasons will this series consist of?

In a recent interview with Mr. Feelgood, Reedus said he thinks he will portray Daryl for “six or seven more years.” The Daryl Dixon series was renewed for a second season before the premiere of season 1 and has since been confirmed for a third. In an interview with Radio Times, Reedus has also let it slip that the series will see a fourth season. If he believes he will portray Daryl for six or seven additional years, the series could include even more seasons.

The Daryl Dixon series has been well received, featuring a look at life after the outbreak outside the United States. In season 1, Daryl washes ashore in France and immediately begins to plan his journey home. He encounters a nun named Isabelle (Clémence Poésy), who needs assistance. Daryl, being the nice guy he is, puts his plans aside to help deliver Laurent (Louis Puech Scigliuzzi), a young boy believed to be the savior of the world, to The Nest, the capital of the Union of Hope.

The first season ended with Daryl at a crossroads. He was forced to chose between beginning his journey home or staying in France. The teaser trailers for the upcoming season confirm he has stayed, as viewers knew he would, to fight against the Power of the Living, alongside the Union of Hope.

Season 2 will feature Carol’s return as she searches for Daryl, whose last known location was Maine and focus on Daryl’s journey in France. Fans are eager to see a reunion between the two characters whose stories began in season 1 of the main series. Carol and Daryl have a very special bond that stems from the similar experiences they have lived through. Overtime they became the best of friends and have a relationship built on trust.

Reedus has confirmed filming for the third season will be moved to Spain, which will add another layer to the series.
