Lucas Bravo, who has captured the hearts of many as the ‘hot French chef’ Gabriel in Netflix’s hit series “Emily in Paris,” is actually nothing like his on-screen persona when it comes to culinary preferences. While Gabriel is seen whipping up classic dishes like chicken Fricassee, steak au poivre, and coq au vin, Bravo himself leads a completely different lifestyle—one that’s all about veganism.

Having been raised on an animal-free diet since birth, the 36-year-old actor has always embraced a plant-based diet. However, it’s only recently that he’s started vocalizing his desire to see his character do the same. In an interview with Sharp magazine, Bravo shared his vision for Gabriel’s restaurant. “I would love for his restaurant to become a vegan restaurant, and for him to get a green Michelin star,” he explained. “It’s something I’ve been talking about with Darren and producers for two years now, and I hope it’s going to happen.”

Bravo’s commitment to veganism extends beyond personal choice; he’s using his platform to advocate for environmental awareness. In a conversation with Grazia, he shared, “I’d really like to use him as a platform to spread a little awareness about the climate. I’m a vegan and in season three Gabriel slowly used more vegetables and more organic cuisine at his restaurant.” Bravo also noted that some of his costumes are made from eco-conscious materials, signaling his commitment to sustainable practices both in front of and behind the camera.

We wish all actors would advocate for more vegan-friendly storylines.
