Cannibal’s debut in ‘House of the Dragon’ is yet to come and is one of the most anticipated moments for fans.
Dragons are already beginning to wreak havoc in the second season of ‘House of the Dragon’, and in the latest episode we witnessed a magnificent battle in Rook’s Rest involving Vaghar, Veleys, and Sunfyre. But while Vaghar – the dragon of Aemond Targaryen – is the largest and oldest of them all, the most fearsome of them all has yet to make an appearance.
Meet Cannibal, the untamed wild dragon
‘House of the Dragon’ will feature three wild dragons that no one has been able to tame: Sheepstealer, Grey Ghost, and the most dangerous of them all, Cannibal. His name is not in vain, for he is a completely black dragon with green eyes and a taste for feeding on the flesh of other dragons. However, he only attacks dragons smaller than himself and is considered a scavenger, not a particularly prolific dragon hunter, as he is also capable of devouring eggs and newborn creatures.

According to the legend in George R.R. Martin’s books, Cannibal lived in Dragonstone before the arrival and founding of House Targaryen. Before the Dance of the Dragons, Denys Argenta (a man who claimed to be a bastard descendant of the Targaryens) attempted to tame the Sheepstealer, but Cannibal interfered, chasing the dragon away and devouring Denys and his children.
The fear Cannibal inspired was such that the fishermen asked to assemble an army to kill him, a request that was denied on the grounds that he would cause no trouble if left alone. It was simply forbidden to fish in the waters east of Dragonmont, where Cannibal frequented most.
He is yet to appear in ‘House of the Dragon’, which will premiere the fifth episode of this second season next Sunday.
