One of the sweetest, most low-key couples in Hollywood is easily Lily Collins and Charlie McDowell, who have been killing it with their romance and careers. After three years of marriage, many fans have wondered: Are the two going to be parents one day?
Well, in a recent interview with EOnline at the AFI premiere of his movie The Summer Book, McDowell set the record straight. Yes, they will expand their family, but obviously on their own timeline!
“We would like to,” he said. “We would like to move into that next stage, so we’ll see when it happens!”
Now, both the Emily in Paris star and McDowell are quite private, especially when it comes to their personal lives. So this news is a super-rare glimpse into where they are mentally (especially since we haven’t seen Collins talk about parenthood)!
For those who don’t know, the couple met on the set of Gilded Rage back in 2019. That same year, they got together, and adopted a dog named “baby Redford.” In 2020, they got engaged, and on Sept. 4, 2021, they got married in a fairytale-like wedding in Dunton, Colorado (where Collins made headlines for her custom, hooded Ralph Lauren lace gown).
In a previous interview with E! News via People, Collins talked about her and McDowell’s relationship. “We can kind of conquer anything,” she said. “We’ve been through so many changes globally, personally, and to be able to have a partner next to you that makes you laugh in times when you need it the most and helps you emotionally get through things, like moving to a foreign country for four months.”
