Videos online say Bill Gates will launch milk derived from maggots for human consumption, but the clip in question shows a product from a company that is no longer operating and did not partner with Gates or his foundation.
Social media posts, opens new tab shared screenshots originating from a website named Slay News with the headline, opens new tab saying: “Bill Gates Launches ‘Maggot Milk’ to Feed General Public.”

The Slay News article published on June 21, 2024, cites a video posted on X, opens new tab by conspiracy theorist Alex Jones as evidence of Gates launching a product called “EntoMilk,” which Jones describes as “Maggot Milk.”

The clip in Jones’ video showing the manufacturing process of EntoMilk was published by 60 Second Docs in September 2018, opens new tab.

EntoMilk, opens new tab is the product of the South African company Gourmet Grubb. It describes its insect milk as an environmentally friendly and nutrient-rich dairy alternative made from the larvae of the black soldier fly.
The company has not shared any new posts on its social media accounts since 2020, opens new tab and its official website now redirects to an unrelated gambling website, opens new tab.

There is no evidence that Gates was involved in the production of EntoMilk or products developed by Gourmet Grubb. On its archived site, opens new tab, EntoMilk said it was in partnership with the Cape Peninsula University of Technology and the Technology Innovation Agency, opens new tab.


A spokesperson for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation said in an email to Reuters that the social media posts saying Bill Gates is launching maggot milk are false.

Leah Bessa, co-founder of the now-defunct Gourmet Grubb, said in a text message that neither Bill Gates nor the Gates Foundation were involved with Gourmet Grubb.
Representatives for InfoWars did not respond to a Reuters request for comment.
