Norman Reedus broke a law in another country but was saved from serious trouble because of his The Walking Dead fame.

Norman Reedus, fueled by his immense passion for bikes, has vividly portrayed his love for riding on both big and small screens. While filming his latest The Walking Dead spin-off on Daryl Dixon’s second Season in Paris, he couldn’t resist the urge to hit the road on his bike, which led him to find himself on the wrong side of the law.

Luckily, his fame from The Walking Dead got him off the hook with the police. Reedus, always known for his adventurous spirit, recently shared the whole story of his bike escapade on a visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Back in 2016, France introduced a controversial law affecting motorcycle riders, particularly regarding mandatory gloves. This regulation faced significant opposition from riders concerned about their rights. The law which was effective from November 20th, 2016, mandated both motorcycle riders and passengers to wear gloves, with fines and license endorsements as penalties for non-compliance. However, exceptions seem to apply when you’re as famous as Daryl Dixon.

It turns out The Walking Dead is quite a big deal in France, which thankfully helped Norman Reedus bizarre the unique glove law for motorcyclists. During his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, he humorously recounted the story, explaining how his fame from the show came in handy.

Yeah, it’s[ The Walking Dead ] a big deal over there. I didn’t realize how big of a deal it was, but we shot two seasons over there. I was getting ready to start filming and I have a motorcycle there as well. You have to wear gloves and a helmet over there. Like, you can be naked as long as you’re wearing a helmet and gloves.

He further added,

I took my bike around and forgot my gloves, and I was like, ‘Oh man, I didn’t take it.’ I started heading back home, and there were police guys with machine guns, a whole bunch of them. I got on the curb and tried to explain in broken French that I’m going to get my gloves, and they were like, ‘Take off your helmet.’ I took it off, and they were like, ‘*Gasp!* Daryl Dixon!’ And they let me go.

In the end, Norman Reedus rode into the sunset. Dodging fines with a famous name and a charming smile, he proved that even in real life, Daryl Dixon knows how to make a daring escape.
