DEION Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes received grief after a big-time college football upset occurred on Friday night.
The NFL legend, 57, and the NCAA FBS team didn’t even play that night and still got hit with criticism from social media users.

The Nebraska Cornhuskers, ranked No. 22, stunningly lost in overtime to the No. 24-ranked Illinois.
It was the Cornhuskers’ first loss of the season.
And head coach Matt Rhule’s Nebraska squad had beaten Colorado 28-10 the week before.
The Cornhuskers’ recent loss sparked negative reactions from fans about Deion Sanders and the Buffaloes’ defeat in Week 3.
“Nebraska loses, all that means to me is that my statement of Colorado being A**, is 100% factual,” one wrote.
“How bad is Colorado?” another asked.
“Nebraska dominated that team in every aspect of the game. Illinois was leaps and bounds better.”
“People were way over their skis with Nebraska after that Colorado game,” a third said.
“Colorado has 1 great player, an ok QB and one hell of a marketing department. They are a s*** football team & people overvalued that win,” a third said.”
Fortunately for Sanders and Colorado, the program pulled off a dramatic overtime win Saturday night against the Baylor Bears.
Deion’s son and quarterback Shedeur Sanders heaved up a hail Mary touchdown pass to tie things as time expired in regulation.
The Buffaloes then stopped the Bears just inches short of a game-tying score in overtime, claiming the 38-31 victory.
Colorado’s fans stormed the field when the initial call was a fumble that went out of the end zone.
The play was upheld and the chaos continued.
The potential 2025 first-round pick Shadeur connected with wide receiver LaJonhtay Wester for the 43-yard Hail Mary touchdown.
And Buffaloes’ two-way star Travis Hunter forced Dominic Richardson to fumble the ball which proceeded to roll out of the back of the end zone.

Shadeur finished with 341 passing yards and two passing touchdowns.
And the cornerback and wideout Hunter had six receptions for126 yards.
Colorado has a 3-1 record for the season as the 14-point comeback was the largest of Sanders’ career as a head coach.
The Buffaloes are halfway to bowl eligibility for the first time since the 2020 campaign.
Colorado will travel to play the UCF Knights in Week 5.
It’ll be a tough assignment for Deion and company as the Knicks are undefeated with a 3-0 record.
