Tagovailoa made it to the locker room under his own power after spending several minutes being treated on the field.

The 26-year-old has a history of head injuries going back to 2022.

T’eo, a friend of Tua’s family since childhood, was asked by NFL Network colleague Kyle Brandt how he felt after Thursday’s scary incident.

On the verge of tears, the GMFB analyst revealed he initially wanted the quarterback to walk away from football two years ago.

“After he suffered the [concussion] against the Bengals, I wanted him to walk,” T’eo said in the clip.

Tua was carted from the field in September 2022 during a game against Cincinnati.

The quarterback’s head slammed against the turf following a tackle from Josh Tupou.

It came just days after he was evaluated for another head injury but cleared to play by the league.

A visibly emotional T’eo, who spent seven years in the NFL as a linebacker, took a moment to compose himself during Friday’s broadcast.

“That was hard [to watch],” he continued, choking back tears.

“What people have to understand, this is just a game. Then there is life.

“And when you watch [that happen] to a man you’ve known since you were a little boy, is it hard for me? Yeah.”

T’eo added it was a “huge relief” to see Tua stand up after the incident.

“I don’t even know if Tua was there, when he’s walking off the field,” the former Maxwell Award winner said.

With this season’s schedule now revealed, eager NFL fans are looking to secure tickets to their favorite games.

You can start buying tickets for some games on several sites now:

Before purchasing tickets on resale websites check pricing as they are third-party sellers and, importantly, the cost can vary depending on demand. You may pay more than an official ticket, though you can also get good last-minute deals too.

But if you can’t be there in person, don’t worry, there’s still time to set up your stream before the season starts.

“There are times I’ve had concussions, where I’ve walked off the field, into the locker room. And I don’t remember those walks.”

“I’m not a praying type but I’m sending all the positive vibes his way. Awful situation,” responded one viewer to the footage on X.

“I saw him go down it just hit like a gut punch. I’m not a Miami fan, but I’m a fan of these players that give their all and first thing I did was pray for Tua and his family,” said another.

“Excellent segment guys. Really puts things into perspective,” added a third.

“Really hope Tua is ok, but he’s gotta seriously think about shutting it down. I hate saying this. His concussions are getting worse and worse and he’s a young man with his entire life ahead of him,” commented Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe.

“That’s it…. NFL go ahead and do the right thing. Tua has had entirely way too many concussions. He need to retire for his longevity health concerns,” added Dez Bryant, a former NFL wideout.
