And he also works for Fox, on the NFL Kickoff show on Sundays.

But he still told it as he saw it when appearing with Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show.

“It was definitely a rookie debut. He was like a quarterback that was picked #1 overall,” Gronkowski said.

“All the hype in the world and he came through.

“He did come through but he had a lot of jitters, that’s for sure. Not a lot, but he had some jitters.

“He made some great plays, there were some plays that he missed. I feel like it’s like he missed some blitzes coming through the gap, and he didn’t pick him up.

“So he’s got a lot to learn but he came out with the win.

“He had a solid defense with Kevin Burkhardt right there to help him get that victory.

“So just overall, I’m kind of comparing him to a rookie quarterback, because he was a rookie in the booth.

“But he has a lot to improve on and he’s gonna just keep dominating and getting better every single week.”

Tight end Gronkowski had an outstanding career, winning four Super Bowls, including three with the Patriots.

Brady went even better of course, winning seven Super Bowls in his storybook career.

And Brady signed a ten-year, $375 million contract with Fox to call games.

His debut definitely had a mixed reaction, with some pundits and fans highly critical.

But ESPN announcer Joe Buck leapt to Brady’s defence.

“I think he’ll be great – I stand by that.”

Brady will be back in the booth for Week 2 of the season on Sunday.

He will be alongside Kevin Burkhardt again for another Dallas Cowboys game, as they take on the New Orleans Saints.
