Eminem reaches new heights in his career with his latest album, and there’s no debate — these accolades are well-deserved

2014 MTV Movie Awards - Show

Eminem’s latest album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) enjoyed a brief but hugely successful time on a number of charts around the world this summer. The rapper’s new set launched at No. 1 in dozens of countries, then began working its way down. In the months since it debuted, the title has risen and slipped, as the hip-hop powerhouse adds to the project or spins off new singles.

The Death of Slim Shady is back (back again) on charts in many places after it was recently released on vinyl. The newly-minted wax set debuts on one ranking in the United Kingdom this frame following the new drop, and it’s immediately become Eminem’s greatest success on that tally.

Eminem launches The Death of Slim Shady on the Official Vinyl Albums chart at No. 4. That tally ranks the bestselling full-lengths and EPs on vinyl in the U.K., and it’s already the superstar’s most impressive position on the list.

The Death of Slim Shady now stands out as Eminem’s highest-rising placement on the Official Vinyl Albums chart in the U.K. Before this week, he’d only scored a single appearance inside the top 10, and now he’s doubled that sum.

Until now, Curtain Call – The Hits was Eminem’s only top 10 smash on the Official Vinyl Albums tally. That compilation climbed to No. 8 on the chart in 2018. In the years since then, the rapper has sent a number of his projects to the ranking, but none have managed to soar into the loftiest tier.

Eminem’s most recent full-length enters the U.K.’s vinyl albums chart in fourth place, and it, appropriately, earns the fourth-highest-ranking debut on the list this time around. The Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar winner is beaten by new arrivals from Courteeners (Pink Cactus Cafe, No. 1), Amyl & the Sniffers (Cartoon Darkness, No. 2), and Laura Marling (Patterns in Repeat, No. 3).
