American Idol season 22 runner-up and country music singer Will Moseley has been very busy since the show. Will, a 23-year-old musician from Hazlehurst, Georgia, impressed the judges–Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan–at his audition with his original song “Gone For Good.” Throughout American Idol season 22, he was a frontrunner because of his consistently phenomenal performances. He placed second to Abi Carter in the finale after many standout performances, including “(Sittin’ On) The Dock Of The Bay,” “Night Moves,” “Gimme Three Steps,” “Rolling in the Deep,” “Born to Be Wild,” and “It’s My Life.”

During American Idol season 22, Will’s original audition song, “Gone For Good,” which he wrote and previously released in 2023, went to number two on the iTunes country charts. During his American Idol run, Will also released another song, “Why,” which he co-wrote with Will Richardson and Nathan Baker. During the American Idol season 22 finale, he sang his single “Good Book Bad.” The song was written by Jordan Walker, Lalo Guzman, and Thomas Archer. Since American Idol season 22 ended, Will has been recording music. On August 9, Will released a new song called, “I Don’t Wanna Fight No More.” In an Instagram post, Will wrote, “‘I Don’t Wanna Fight No More’ is the first song I’ve released since coming off of @americanidol, and I’m excited for you to hear it!”

In addition, Will has been recording covers of some of his favorite songs. In a June 2024 Instagram post, Will wrote, “My time on American Idol was very rewarding to me, and after I finished up I decided to take some time and record my favorite songs to release for all of you! Starting tomorrow at 12pm my acoustic version of ‘Whiskey and You’ hits YouTube!” “Whiskey and You” was originally recorded by country music star Chris Stapleton.

On June 2, 2024, just two weeks after the American Idol season 22 finale, Will opened for superstar country music group Zac Brown Band. He’ll also be opening for them on New Year’s Eve 2024 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

In June 2024, Will performed during the 19 Takeover event at CMA Fest, along with his fellow American Idol season 22 finalists Jack Blocker, Emmy Russell, Triston Harper, and Mia Matthews, American Idol season 21 winner Iam Tongi and finalists Colin Stough and Haven Madison, American Idol season 20 runner-up HunterGirl, and American Idol season 18 finalist Grace Leer. Will also appeared at Fan Fair X at CMA Fest.

In June 2024, Will performed at Freedom Fest in Patterson, Georgia, and, in September 2024, he performed at Lacfest 2024 in Blackshear, Georgia. In a July 2024 Instagram post, Will announced that he’ll be touring with Colin Stough, beginning on October 3, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee. The tour closes on December 14, 2024 in Omaha, Nebraska.

In a September 2022 Instagram post, Will shared that he was invited to be part of the CMA Foundation’s Music Teachers of Excellence Event. He shared a photograph of himself on the red carpet. The caption read of the post, “This past week, I was honored to be included in the @cmafoundation Music Teachers of Excellence Event! It was awesome to watch the people who instill a love for music in so many kids be appreciated. Thank You guys for having me!”

Will had an outstanding run on American Idol season 22, which has brought him a lot of success after the show.
