he Playoffs continue Monday night with Team Snoop Dogg taking The Voice stage as they compete for a place in the Live Shows for Season 26.
The five remaining members of Team Snoop—Aliyah Khaylyn, Austyns Stancil, Christina Eagle, Mikaela Ayira and Jeremy Beloate—are competing for the only two spots Snoop has in the Live Shows.
The number is one less than last season, but that’s because this season there will only be three nights of Voice Live Shows for the audience to vote on.
The Voice issued an early release video of Jeremy’s performance— and it was a tearjerker. Not only did he bring his coach to tears, but also Reba McEntire, with his performance of Josh Groban‘s version of “The Impossible Dream (The Quest)”
Michael Bublé, Jeremy’s former coach, might be having second thoughts about letting Jeremy go so that Snoop could Steal him away.
“The fact that you can sing a song like that and make it yours, you are bad man,” Michael said. “Damn, Snoop. That is one of my favorite performances so far. Great.”
And Gwen Stefani, who watched the performance with jaw-dropping amazement, said, “I loved this combo [pointing to Jeremy and Michael], I did, but this weirdo combo [pointing to Jeremy and Snoop], it’s working. It’s so beautiful. You’re such an amazing singer. Congratulations.”
And then it was Reba’s turn, and as she tried to talk, you could hear the sound of tears in her voice.
“I haven’t been that touched listening to anybody sing until you,” she said. “You have got a voice that penetrated my heart. It really got me. I can see you on Broadway. I am going to come to see you when you’re there. You’re so good.”
Then it was time for the most important critique, Jeremy’s new coach.
“I am over here shedding tears of joy,” Snoop said. “You made me feel like I was sitting at a real Broadway play. I’m crying and I don’t care because [Reba] in the seat next to me is crying, so I guess it’s okay to cry. There’s something about the way you make me feel. Jeremy you are a blessing in disguise. I am so thankful to have you on my team and I am so thankful to hear you sing.”
But will it be enough for Jeremy to land one of the two spots on Team Snoop for the Live Shows?
Tune in on Monday at 8 p.m. ET on NBC to find out who Snoop selects to go through to the Live Shows.
