Another day another win for the Kansas City Chiefs. This time, it was all thanks to kicker Harrison Butker, though. While the cameras showed the sad faces of the Cincinnati Bengals players, there was a lot of hooting and hollering going on in Arrowhead’s private suite, which was filled with excitement from Taylor Swift and the other Chiefs WAGs.
Butker drilled it right in the middle with just 3 seconds remaining on the clock and helped the Chiefs keep a spotless record. While Taylor Swift was shown cheering for the Chiefs’ spotless record, we can’t help but recall the time when the kicker brought Swift into the conversation to put a point across. But more on that later, let’s look at the Chiefs’ win against the Bengals for now.
It was the Chiefs’ fourth and six and they decided to go for a 51-yard kick. Till that point, the Bengals had the lead (25-23), but the Chiefs kicker ruined Joe Burrow’s plans for winning the week 2 game at Arrowhead, which would have been the Bengals’ first 2nd week win since 2018. The camera shifted to Taylor Swift, who had a hard time controlling her excitement. It’s also to be noted that this is Butker’s 13 successful score against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Butker scored another early 19-yard field goal in the first quarter with just 2:11 remaining. However, leading to the last quarter, the score was 23-22 at one point with the Chiefs in the lead. But Evan McPherson’s 53-yard field goal gave the Bengals a much-needed hope of at least neutralizing their bad start to the season. The Chiefs were scoreless for nearly 9 and a half minutes before Butker took the onus on himself and got the much-needed win.
The win seems to have wiped away any qualms Taylor Swift might have had against Butker. Or maybe, she didn’t have any in the first place. Let’s recap what happened back in the offseason.
Harrison Butker uses Taylor Swift to prove a point
The Chiefs kicker became a source of controversy after his speech at the Benedictine College’s graduation ceremony earlier this year. He went on to talk about women taking on more traditional roles and how they have been fed “diabolical lies” about “in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy, as well as President Joe Biden,” to name a few things.

To support his claims, he used one of the lyrics from Taylor Swift’s song “Bejeweled.” Referring to the Grammy Award-winning singer as his “teammate’s girlfriend,” the kicker pointed out how “familiarity breeds contempt,” and exemplified his wife for taking on the role of a “homemaker.”
Butker pointed out how his wife, Isabelle, “would convert to the faith, become my wife, and embrace one of the most important titles of all: Homemaker.” Taylor Swift never responded to Butker’s comments, and maybe they don’t bother her at all and she’s just in to watch Travis Kelce and his Chiefs go on a 3-peat run.
She was there in the season opener against the Ravens too! Looks like she’ll enjoy the football season without a care in the world.
