Stranger Things star Finn Wolfhard has expressed a desire for the show’s conclusion to mirror the epic movie franchise, igniting excitement among fans for the ultimate installment. Wolfhard has been playing the role of Mike Wheeler since the beginning of the Netflix series Stranger Things.
The series has gone on to shatter several viewership records for the streaming platform, becoming one of the most popular TV shows of all time. Ever since it was announced that the Netflix series would end with Season 5, fans have been speculating about how the series could give a befitting end to every character. Although there have been several rumors swirling around the show’s ending, the aforementioned actor recently opened up about the series’ final chapter and how he would want it to conclude.
Speaking in an interview with Access Online about the current production status of Stranger Things Season 5, Wolfhard revealed that none of the actors have seen or read the script for the series finale. However, the actor went on to share his own opinions on the ending and opened up about how he wants the series to end. The actor noted that he wants the series to have a happy ending like the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Wolfhard said, “Truly, I would love a Lord of the Rings-style happy ending. They’re waiting to give us the last episode. We’ve read up to the second-to-last episode, so we’re all on the edge of our seats to find out what the ending is.”
Wolfhard is not the only actor to give this kind of reply and his answer aligns with what Millie Bobby Brown said about the show’s final season. Earlier this month, Brown, who plays Eleven in the series, also confirmed that the actors were allowed to read only a certain number of scripts. The decision not to tell the actors about the ending seems to show that the creators don’t want things to get spoiled for anyone, including the actors. However, it has been widely reported that the finale will be emotional and filled with action-packed sequences. In December last year, David Harbour assured the fans that they could expect an extraordinary final season. However, he also told the fans to bash the series if they didn’t like how the series concluded.
As the creators of Stranger Things keep a tight lid on plot details and debunk fan theories about the final season, viewers are left in suspense, unsure of what to anticipate in season five. Meanwhile, a set photo from the final season saw Sadie Sink’s character lying in a hospital with Caleb McLaughlin sitting next to her, meaning Max’s story might turn out to be very crucial in the final set of episodes. No matter the outcome of the final season, it’s almost certain that not everyone’s desires will be fulfilled in a series as widely followed as Stranger Things. As of now, there is no release date for the fifth and final season of Stranger Things.
