Selena Gomez announced her engagement to music producer Benny Blanco on Wednesday night, one year after she confirmed their relationship.
The 32-year-old Golden Globe nominee revealed the news on Instagram, sharing photos of her huge diamond engagement ring with her 422million followers.
‘Forever begins now..’ she captioned a carousel of four images, including one of her new fiancé, 36, holding her in her arms as he kissed her head.
Prior to Blanco’s proposal, the star was tied to a number of A-list hunks, most famously Blanco’s collaborator Justin Bieber, 30.
Gomez also dated The Weeknd, Zedd, Nick Jonas, Taylor Lautner and Zayn Malik.

NICK JONAS (2008)
Gomez dated Jonas Brothers band member Nick Jonas, 32, in 2008.
During their short-lived romance she even starred in the group’s Burnin’ Up music video.
Nick also famously dated singer Miley Cyrus around that time.
There was no bad blood between the stars, with Gomez telling W magazine in 2016: ‘We never feuded. We both liked the same guy when we were 16… We are now completely settled in our own lives.’

TAYLOR LAUTNER (2009)
Selena also had a brief romance with Twilight hunk Taylor Lautner, 32, in 2009.
They met while she was filming Ramona and Beezus and he was shooting Twilight: New Moon.
‘Kristen [Stewart] was staying in my hotel. He would visit her, so we were constantly running into each other in the lobby — and we ended up meeting,’ Selena told Seventeen magazine at the time.
However, the intense public interest in the romance proved to be too much for the pair.
‘We would go out to lunch and dinner, but I knew he had paparazzi following him and I had paparazzi following me. So we literally just wanted to hang out, go bowling and stuff, and it went a little too far, I think. People were getting a little crazy about us.’

JUSTIN BIEBER (2009 — 2014, 2017 — 2018)
Selena’s most famous romance was with Bieber.
The Rare Beauty founder and Canadian singer, 30, had an on-and-off romance between 2009 and 2018, before ultimately calling it quits just months ahead of his engagement to his now-wife, Hailey Bieber.
Sparks flew when Justin serenaded Selena with his song One Less Lonely Girl during Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve in 2009.
The pair went on to deny romance rumors throughout 2010, with Selena referring to Justin as her ‘little brother.’
Later that year they were spotted eating pancakes at IHOP before they began attending red carpet events together, including the Katy Perry: Part of Me premiere.
The pair continued to date on and off until April 2014, when Selena reportedly found photos of Kylie Jenner on Justin’s phone, leading to a breakup.
Months later they were back together, with Justin sharing a photo of them with the caption, ‘Our love is unconditional.’
However the reunion didn’t last long, and the two split again in October.

In October 2017, Justin and Selena were spotted grabbing breakfast and attending a church service together.
They continued to be pictured together, enjoying bike rides and attending hockey games, but by March 2018 they called it quits for good.
Justin went on to marry Hailey that September, and Selena released two scathing breakup anthems, Lose You to Love Me and Look at Her Now.
The month after Justin married Hailey, Selena reportedly suffered a breakdown connected to her lupus and entered treatment for her mental health.
One day after news broke of Selena’s alleged breakdown, Justin was spotted looking despondent as he sat in his car with Hailey.
Back in 2020 Justin shared a social media post by a Selena fan who encouraged others to flood Hailey’s livestream with remarks that ‘Jelena was better.’

Hailey became so exasperated that in April 2023 she posted a TikTok begging the trolls who are ‘in my comments every single time I post’ to ‘leave me alone, please.’
Seemingly referring to how long ago Justin and Selena broke up, she added: ‘Enough time has gone by where it’s valid to leave me alone. I beg of you, truly.’
In 2022 Selena revealed her break-up with Justin was the ‘best thing that ever happened to her’ in her Apple TV+ documentary, My Mind & Me.
She said she felt the ‘worst heartbreak ever’ had to happen so that she could learn to ‘choose herself and choose life again.’

Selena and Canadian crooner The Weeknd, 34, went public in January 2017, when they were spotted being affectionate outside of Giorgio Baldi in Santa Monica, California.
In February they were caught snuggling on a yacht in Marina Del Rey, California.
Gomez and the singer — birth name Abel Makkonen Tesfaye — were also seen holding hands at the Neon Festival at Coachella.
Afterwards they were seen together at the Met Gala in May and the Harper’s Bazaar Icons event, both in NYC.

‘Guess I was just another pit stop / ‘Til you made up your mind / You just wasted my time,’ he appeared to allude to Gomez, who reunited with Bieber days before their split was made public.
Fans’ strongest evidence appeared to be lyrical references to the starlet’s kidney transplant that summer, with The Weeknd suggesting that he had been willing to donate his organ.
‘I said I didn’t feel nothing baby, but I lied / I almost cut a piece of myself for your life,’ he sings.
He also talks about how the duo found each other during trying times with the lyrics: ‘We found each other / I helped you out of a broken place / You gave me comfort / But falling for you was my mistake.’
DREW TAGGART (September 2022)
Gomez was linked to The Chainsmokers’ Andrew Taggart, 34, in 2022, after the two stars were seen grabbing dinner in New York City, as well as having a bowling date.
At the time, a source informed Us Weekly, ‘They aren’t trying to hide their romance by sneaking around at members only clubs.’
‘They are so affectionate and having a lot of fun together. Selena can hardly keep her hands off him,’ the insider continued.
In March, the Wizards Of Waverly Place alum jumped to her TikTok page, per Us Weekly, and gave her fans and followers a quick update about her relationship status.
She chose to lip-sync to an audio track that stated, ‘I hate it when girls are like, “Oh my gosh, my crush doesn’t even know that I exist.” Girl, my crush doesn’t even exist!’
In the caption attached to the clip, the Wolves songstress typed out, ‘Still out here lookin for him lol,’ hinting that her romance with Drew had come to an end.

ZAYN MALIK (March 2023)
That same month that she declared her singledom, speculation arose that she had moved on with former One Direction member, Zayn Malik, 31, after a TikTok user, Karissa Garcia, uploaded a viral TikTok that claimed a friend of hers was a hostess at a restaurant the two stars had dined at.
In the video, she then showed messages from her friend that claimed Selena and Zayn had shared a kiss while enjoying a dinner date together.
‘Selena and Zayn went out in SoHo in New York City last night at around 10:30 pm. They walked in holding hands and were kissing,’ an eyewitness later informed Entertainment Tonight.
‘Most restaurant staff and restaurant-goers didn’t notice them. It seemed like they were comfortable together and it was clear that it was a date,’ the source added to the outlet.
Later in March, she stepped out with Zayn’s personal assistant, Taryn Zimmerman.
However, the romance apparently fizzled out, as Selena unfollowed Zayn‘s Instagram account in June 2023, with Zayn soon following suit.

BENNY BLANCO (PRESENT)
Gomez confirmed her relationship with Blanco last December.
She cuddled up to Benny in a snap shared to her Instagram stories.
It came after she liked and commented ‘Facts’ underneath a Popfactions Instagram post that said she had seemingly confirmed that she’s ‘in a relationship.’
She also revealed they had already been dating for six months and that he treats her better than anyone else.
After she shared confirmed her relationship, Selena’s fans called out Benny’s prior comments referring to pop stars who tout various brands in tandem as ‘cookie-cutter’ artists.
‘Like you know, they’re like, “This is my new single and here’s my makeup line,”‘ he said to podcast host Zach Sang in 2020.

Though some fans saw it as a jab, the multihyphenate appeared unbothered.
As one fan slammed her as ‘corny’ for sticking by him despite the shade, Gomez replied: ‘Lol yeah and he’s still better than anyone I’ve ever been with. Facts’
She also told another upset fan, who said Blanco has ‘cursed’ the star, that ‘he has been the best thing that’s ever happened to me.’
Gomez’s replies didn’t stop there.
One fan penned a lengthy comment accusing Gomez of always choosing to date ‘crusty, problematic music men.’
The person said she should go after someone who is ‘a rich, educated, mature handsome man that would treat her with love and respect, share her same values and life goals.’
Gomez said the analysis of her and Blanco was ‘so off.’
She then fired back at a rude troll who suggested that she ‘can’t get [a man] better’ than the music producer if she wanted to.
