THE Eagles are sitting at 1-1 on the season, but it might already be time to hit the panic button in Philadelphia.

After a stunning loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football, question marks are surrounding the future of the Eagles.

The Eagles are on a terribly rough stretch dating back to the end of last season.

Since Week 13 of the 2023 season, Philadelphia is 2-7 in their last nine games, including the playoffs.

Quarterback Jalen Hurts hasn’t played great football during that stretch either, including the start of this season.

In their opening game win against the Packers, Hurts passed for 278 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions and lost a fumble.

In the Eagles’ Week 2 loss to the Falcons, Hurts only passed for 183 yards and one touchdown, adding another interception.

Head coach Nick Sirianni also made some critical errors during the game, trying fourth-down plays instead of kicking easy field goals.

“They made a couple more plays than we did down the stretch. We made some plays; they made more,” Sirianni said.

“And that’s on all of us. That starts with coaching and goes to the players. We are all responsible for the loss.”

The offense hasn’t looked like what fans have come to expect out of the Eagles, with mistakes and inconsistencies being a constant presence during games.

Errors are piling up on the defensive side of the game too, with players getting benched by the Eagles for their behavior.

Star defensive lineman Jalen Carter was sat down to start the game against the Falcons due to tardiness for team activities.

He still played 78 percent of the team’s defensive snaps, but it was another sign that things aren’t quite right in Philadelphia.

Injuries are starting to pile up for the squad as well, with key players unable to perform at the start of the season.

Star wide receiver AJ Brown missed Week 2 and will likely miss Week 3 with a hamstring injury, and tight end Albert Okwuegbunam was placed on injured reserve with an abdominal injury.

On the defensive side of the ball, cornerback James Bradberry and safety Sydney Brown are both on injured reserve with leg injuries.

Things aren’t going to get any easier for the Eagles either. They have a tough schedule the rest of the way and they could quickly find themselves on the outside of the playoff picture.

The Eagles’ next two games come against the New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, two undefeated teams.

They also have to play two games against the revamped Washington Commanders, two games against the Dallas Cowboys, and assorted games against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens, and other contenders.

The Eagles’ season will come down to whether or not they can regain an offensive identity.

They have a strong offensive line and can have a dominant running game with Saquon Barkley and Hurts’ rushing ability.

Philadelphia should also have a solid passing game when Brown returns, but Hurts needs to settle down and limit his mistakes and turnovers.

They have a critical three-game stretch against the Saints, Buccaneers, and Cleveland Browns coming up, and if they don’t manage to win two of those three games, the Eagles could be on their back foot for the remainder of the season.
