THE New England Patriots pulled off a shock upset against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, thanks to their new head coach.

The Patriots beat the Bengals 16-10 to start the season, and players credited their head coach for the win.

Quarterback Jacoby Brissett shared that Mayo gave such a passionate speech that he cried before the game.

“Yea man I think I cried three times before the game,” Brissett said.

“Cried when I got to the stadium, cried when Mayo came up to me before the game.

“He started laughing and he’s like, ‘Man, you’re about to win us this game. You’re about to ball out.

“I had never heard that from a coach y’know? And that meant a lot to me.

“My emotions were definitely high.”

Fans were thrilled to hear about their coach’s involvement in the team’s success, and shared on social media.

“Dude this is awesome,” one fan said.

“Being a player’s coach is gonna do wonders for this team,” another fan said.

“Incredible man management, this is how you make the players believe in your coaching vision,” a third fan said.

“I’m so happy for the team, the coach and Jacoby who played great today! Keep it going!” a fourth fan said.

“THIS IS MY TEAM Mayo gonna do wonders omg,” a fifth fan said.

While Brissett didn’t have a spectacular game, he had a clean one which gave the Patriots a chance to win.

His mistake-free football allowed the team to run for 170 yards, controlling the clock.

Brissett completed 15 of 24 passes for 121 yards with no touchdowns, but no interceptions.

He also added 31 yards on the ground on his way to a debut win with the Pats.
