Swift and Kelce’s relationship went public last summer which led to plenty of eyes on the couple.
But the 14-time Grammy winner was also seen as a distraction for the Chiefs by many.
A trailer of the 19th season of the program displayed Mahomes, who revealed his take on the matter.
“People act like it was a distraction, I was like, ‘No, this is just Travis, man!” Mahomes said.
Swift appeared at numerous Chiefs games that featured Kelce.
She was seen alongside the tight end’s family, including his parents, Don and Ed, as well as brother Jason Kelce.
Swift also appeared with Patrick’s wife, Brittany, in the suites.
She then took in Kansas City’s games in the postseason, including the Super Bowl overtime victory in February.
The 34-year-old and Kelce embraced on the field following the big game.
ESPN reporter Holly Rowe called out critics for slamming Swift for her being covered in the NFL landscape, speaking about her positive impact on the sport.
“She brought a lot of friends and family to those football games that maybe wouldn’t have come before,” Rowe said during an interview with US Weekly.
“As a football person, I’m like, ‘The more, the merrier’.
“Keep bringing ‘em because we want to get as many women loving and involved in football as possible.”
It’s safe to say Swift has helped the Chiefs financially.

Kansas City owner Clark Hunt revealed that the singer helped the franchise gain 30% growth in fanbase for the last year.
Kelce and Mahomes will look to win their third straight Super Bowl in the upcoming season.
The Chiefs will take on the Baltimore Ravens in the season opener on September 5.
It will be a rematch of last season’s AFC Championship game when Kansas City defeated Baltimore 17-10.
