Kelly Clarkson launched her music career more than 20 years ago when she won American Idol and dropped “A Moment Like This,” which would immediately make her a star. In the decades since, she’s managed some truly incredible feats, but she’s not done yet.

The TV host and singer appears on a Billboard chart this week that she’s never reached before. Clarkson reaches the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales ranking this frame with her brand new single, and she’s not alone.

Clarkson joined Cher on a remix of her single “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” which becomes a quick bestseller in America—at least when looking only at dance and electronic tunes. The jolly duet opens at No. 3 on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart, earning the top debut this frame.

“DJ Play a Christmas Song” marks Clarkson’s first hit on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales ranking. She’s never appeared on any of Billboard’s dance/electronic lists that focus only on songs. Her Piece By Piece: Remixed collection did hit No. 1 on the Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart back in 2016. Until now, that had held as her only moment on any of these genre-specific rosters.

Cher also earns a new hit, but this week doesn’t mark her first time visiting the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. In fact, she’s already reached this specific list with the same track.

The legendary musician released “DJ Play a Christmas Song” in late 2023 as the lead single from her holiday collection, Christmas. The tune was a quick success on a number of Billboard tallies, including the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart. It became the superstar’s sole No. 1 last December, less than a year ago.

In addition to her two versions of “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” Cher has appeared on the Dance/Electronic Digital Song Sales chart with two other tunes. In 2013, “Woman’s World” rose to No. 7. Just a few years ago, “Believe” peaked at No. 4, and it held as her biggest hit on the tally for a while.

Clarkson recently performed “DJ Play a Christmas Song” on her namesake daytime TV program. Not long afterward, Cher dropped an updated version of her single with the American Idol champion’s vocals as well, and now it’s become a hit all over again.
