Keanu Reeves racing

He played Neo in the Matrix franchise, but Keanu Reeves didn’t employ telekinetic powers during his professional racing debut. The star made an appearance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway on October 6, competing in the Toyota GR Cup. Things started off strong for the star, and per the Associated Press, he was in 21st position at one point, but a spin-out changed things.

He Lost Control At Turn 9

AP reported Keanu spun out onto the grass a bit more than halfway through the race. He did not have a collision and was not injured. Instead, after a quick detour, he returned to the race, signaling he was OK. Keanu ended the race in 25th place out of 35 racers. Not too shabby for his first professional race.

GT World posted a clip from the race on YouTube that shows Keanu drifting off the course. He attempted to regain control of the race car by quickly maneuvering the steering wheel but couldn’t manage it.

His driving impressed this fan, who wrote in the comment section, “Oh, yet another reason to like Keanu Reeves.”

This person loved it. “Good afternoon from Keanu and me Brenda at Indianapolis Speedway Oct 6,2024 at 3 pm ! Awesome races, but it was scary to see him spin yesterday! Thk God he did not get hurt.”

It was a scary moment, as this person wrote, “I can’t even begin to imagine what he was thinking at that time. It happened so quickly!!”

This wasn’t his first time around the track. In 2009, he competed in a celebrity race at the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach and ended up victorious.

AP reported that he and co-star Sandra Bullock are scheduled to attend a 30th anniversary screening of Speed in Los Angeles on October 4.
