Keanu Reeves looked proud as he signed copies of his new novel at an event at Waterstones in London on Monday night.

The John Wick actor, 60, has released The Book of Elsewhere which he collaborated on with British author China Miéville.

In 2021, Keanu  branched out from acting by creating a comic book series called BRZRKR.

And The Book of Elsewhere revisits the material and storylines from the comics, fleshing things out and giving a backstory to the characters.

At the book signing Keanu kept things casual in a dark blue denim jacket, jeans and beige suede boots.

The star has previously admitted that this particular adaptation is very much Miéville’s baby.

He said: ‘I didn’t want to write the book. I wanted another creator to take that journey. So, ultimately, China has written the novel.

‘It’s not, like, we could look at page eight and say, ‘Oh, I wrote this section.’ I didn’t write any of the novel.’

It comes after earlier this year Keanu’s fans were left furious after seeing a very awkward interview with the Matrix actor on BBC‘s The One Show back in October.

He was asked by host Alex Jones if it was nice to see his Speed costar Sandra Bullock again at a recent reunion. Reeves sweetly said it sure was.

But then another presenter, Gabby Logan, pushed harder as she asked if Keanu had wished that they had started a romance after the 1994 film came out.

The dark-haired actor, who dates 51-year-old artist Alexandra Grant, seemed a bit put off but managed to deliver an answer that would not insult his pal Bullock nor his current love.

His fans were not happy with what they considered ‘unprofessional’ questioning.

The actor sat down to discuss his new movies Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and Ballerina.

Jones, one of the show’s regular hosts, brought up Reeves’ ’90s hit, Speed.

Alex then inquired if he liked seeing his costar Sandra at the 30th anniversary celebration of the action movie..

Reeves replied, ‘That was so nice. Yeah, Sandra Bullock and I get along really well and it’s always nice to see her, so it was nice to kind of hang out for a little bit.’

That is when Logan pushed her way in.

She asked, ‘Didn’t you discover later that you could’ve got on even better… you both had a bit of a crush on each other on set but you didn’t find out until later on that you kind of fancied each other…’

That is when the action star looked up and then said, ‘Ohhhh yeah! We were very professional.’

Jones tried to lighten the mood by saying, ‘That would’ve been a nice couple!’

Logan added, ‘There was great chemistry on screen anyway; it was fantastic.’

The vibe on set was an uncomfortable one, however, as Keanu seemed to cringe and the conversation became stilted.

Fans took to social media to say the questioning was ‘ridiculous’ and ‘unfair.’ Many said it was not kind to put Reeves on the spot like that during a live TV show.

He graciously signed copies for some of his fans at the book event

And others pointed out that Reeves was ‘cringing inside, deep.’

One person said on BBC’s Instagram page: ‘Embarrassing questions, a lovely man, and a great actor ❤️.’

For many years, Keanu and Sandra were romantically linked but it was just rumors as Sandra said they never dated.

In the past Keanu has called her ‘a wonderful person and a wonderful actress.’
