GREG Olsen insists he has no ill will towards Tom Brady – despite the GOAT taking his role in Fox’s No.1 broadcast team.

The former Carolina Panthers tight end was replaced by Brady to start the new NFL season.

Seven-time Super Bowl winner Brady penned a ten-year, $375 million deal with Fox in 2022.

The 47-year-old joined up with co-announcer Kevin Burkhardt last week in Cleveland for his first broadcast.

Olsen has worked alongside Burkhardt for the past two seasons, establishing himself as one of the NFL’s most popular color commentators.

He insists he wants Brady to “succeed,” despite the NFL great entering the job with no prior broadcast experience.

“I want him to do well,” Olsen told The Athletic.

“I want him to succeed. I want him to feel I’m a good teammate.

“It’s no different than if he came into the locker room with I was a player and we happened to play in the same position.”

Olsen remains with Fox and will still call games this season alongside Joe Davis.

Despite landing on the No. 2 team on the network, he remains upbeat and wants to make his new partnership the “best crew on TV.”

“My success is not contingent upon Tom,” he continued.

“Tom being really good doesn’t make me less good, and Tom being bad doesn’t make me better.

“Fox has two top teams, and that’s how I view it.

“But I’ve talked to Joe about this – I want people to think that Joe and I are the best crew on television.

“It doesn’t matter that we are the B crew.”

The Tom Brady domino effect

Tom Brady will take his seat in Fox’s top NFL announce team alongside Kevin Burkhardt.

And his arrival at the network has set off a domino effect with every other announcer moving down one spot.

That means Fox’s NFL coverage in 2024 will feature entirely new broadcast pairings.

Greg Olsen, who previously worked alongside Burkhardt, will now be part of the No. 2 announce team with Joe Davis.

The other Fox pairings for 2024 are:

Adam Amin-Mark Sanchez
Kenny Albert-Jon Vilma
Kevin Kugler-Daryl Johnston
Chris Myers-Mark Schlereth

Olsen went on to claim he “would love to be part” of this season’s Super Bowl crew.

But currently, the booth appears reserved for Burkhardt and Brady in New Orleans next February.

Brady’s debut last Sunday was met with “mixed reviews” as the star quarterback helped boost Fox’s Week 1 ratings to record levels.

The former New England Patriots star will return to the booth this weekend.

He joins Burkhardt at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, to watch the Dallas Cowboys face the New Orleans Saints.

Olsen meanwhile will be on the call as the Indianapolis Colts take on the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.
