A FORMER Clemson receiver who won two national titles died at the age of 26, it was announced Saturday.
Diondre Overton’s death was confirmed by the school but no cause was given.

Tributes poured in for the former Clemson star, who won two national titles.
The team posted a short statement on X, formerly known as Twitter.
It read, “Clemson Football and the entire Clemson Family mourns the passing of Clemson alumnus Diondre Overton.
“Our thoughts are with his friends and family.”
Overton played for Clemson from 2016 to 2019 and caught 52 passes for 777 yards.
The team won the national championship in both 2016 and 2018.
His former teammates, including Cincinnati Bengals star Tee Higgins, were left heartbroken.Higgins wrote, “Brotha I miss you already man. I love you 5L. I’m hurtin bad bout this right now.”
“Life ain’t fair man,” former Green Bay Packers draft pick Amari Rodgers said.
“Please tell your loved ones you love them cause you truly never know. Long live Dre.”
Arizona Cardinals defensive end Xavier Thomas also posted, “I love you to death man. Doing it all for you dawg. Fly high.”
Overton went undrafted in the NFL after his career with Clemson.
He played for a number of teams in the Canadian Football League, the USFL and in Europe.
His former sides included the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, the Vienna Vikings, and the Philadelphia Stars.
This January he was picked by the Memphis Showboats.
Clemson has been one of the premier college football programs in the last decade.
They are currently ranked No. 25 in the nation but lost their season opener.
The Tigers were heavily beaten 34-3 by the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs.
The team was preparing for their home opener against App State on Saturday when announcing the news of Overton’s death.
Less than 24 hours before his death was announced, Overton posted on his Instagram stories, “God is working it out. Don’t worry.”
