X account @paulsen_smw first noticed the change to CBS’ graphics, and shared what they found on the platform.

“Credit to CBS for apparently increasing the font weight on its scorebug abbreviations,” the account wrote.

“A little bold goes a long way.”

Most fans probably haven’t even noticed the change that CBS, but it has slightly changed the look of the broadcast.

Eagle-eyed fans may have seen that the team abbreviations in the scorebug are ever so slightly larger than last season.

It appears that CBS decided to bold the font next to each team’s score, which has helped it stand out a bit more.

While not many fans noticed the change, the ones who did shared resounding support for it.

“Thank god. It’s much better. I just noticed it lol,” one fan said.

“It looks much better,” another fan said.

“I sensed a difference,” a third fan said.

“Okay so I wasn’t imagining it. Still historically horrible but just a little bit less horrible than before,” a fourth fan said.

“Just don’t go full ESPN,” a fifth fan said.

CBS isn’t the only network to implement changes into their NFL coverage this season.

Amazon introduced much more comprehensive changes to their coverage than CBS did.

Instead of just changing the font on their scorebug, Amazon implemented AI features for Thursday Night Football.

NFL important dates

August 1 – Hall of Fame Game – Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears

August 8 – Pre-season begins

August 27 – Deadline for 53-man rosters

September 1 – Final day of pre-season

September 5 – Season opener – Baltimore Ravens vs Kansas City Chiefs

November 5 – Trade deadline

January 5 – Week 18 of regular-season

January 11 – Playoffs begin

February 9 – Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, Louisiana

One of the features is called “pressure alerts,” which highlights defenders that AI has determined can make an impact on the upcoming play.

Another feature analyzes a team’s offensive line and predicts where it will try to block.

A third feature called “coverage ID,” will attempt to decipher a team’s defensive formation before the ball is snapped.

All of these features are experimental and aren’t mainstays in Amazon’s broadcasts yet.

Currently, fans will only be able to watch the AI features go to work on experimental broadcasts.
