ANDY REID has announced a Kansas City Chiefs star is officially out of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers

His side is 3-0, but they do have a number of issues to contend with, including injuries.

The issues around Travis Kelce’s form have also proved a problem, with his tight end way off the pace.

There have been calls for Reid to bench the 34-year-old, whose stats are way down this year.

But Chiefs boss Reid is adamant that Kelce is part of his plans for the Chargers clash on Sunday and going forward.

The former Michigan defensive end had 12 and a half sacks on the season before the injury.

And it likely means a start for ex-Arizona Cardinals man Cameron Thomas in that position.

“Yeah, I think he’s ready to roll,” added Reid.

“He’s a pretty sharp kid and plays hard.

“He’s been working in there for the last few weeks.”

Thomas was a third-round NFL Draft pick in 2022 from San Diego State.

‘Well-talked-about personal life’

Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.

But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cagey response.

“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce told GMA.

“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off that way when I’m playing football.

“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road.

“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”

He usually plays as a linebacker but is at his best when a pass rusher.

The 22-year-old had 40 tackles, three sacks, and a fumble recovery in his two-year career with the Cardinals.

Meanwhile, the issues around Kelce continue to mount up.

He has just eight catches for 69 yards in a dreadful start to the season.

They are the lowest three-game figures of his Hall-of-Fame-worthy career to date.

And that has led to calls for him to be benched, with many blaming popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift for his problems.
