Deadpool, Wolverine, and MCU
Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine team up in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine and their meeting promises to be very exciting for fans. Despite the several rumored cameos, the two actors revealed which hero from the Marvel Cinematic Universe they’d love to work with.

Speaking with Marvel Thailand to promote the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine, the two agreed that the Avenger they’d love to work with is Spider-Man. The upcoming superhero film marks Deadpool’s debut in the MCU, and with it, comes a long list of possibilities. Deadpool & Wolverine will feature many cameos, which allegedly include celebrities, X-Men characters, and other characters from the MCU.

When asked to choose one MCU hero to join the team, Ryan Reynolds chose Tom Holland. He prefaced the answer with, “Deadpool, part of his storyline, he wants to matter, so badly wants to be an Avenger, a part of the team, and he just can’t quite get there. And Wolverine is everything I wish I was — he’s a legend, he matters, he saves people, he’s done hero stuff, but if I had to pick one, I’d love to play with Spider-Man.” One of the most requested comic team-ups is Deadpool and Spider-Man and this could happen now that Deadpool and the rest of the mutants are part of the MCU.

Tom Holland is amazing,” Reynolds continued, and Jackman agreed, “He’s so cool. That would be great. And he’s young, we could pile on him, abuse him,” with Reynolds playing along, “You can hurt him. You can hit him as hard as you want. He will get right back up.”

Jackman added, “I also want Hulk. I just want him on my side. I don’t want to fight against Hulk.”

Deadpool & Wolverine Is About to Become a Smashing MCU Hit

These last few years, Marvel Studios and its bigger parent, Disney, have struggled at the box office, but “Marvel Jesus” Deadpool is bound to change that. Deadpool & Wolverine is projected to have a gigantic opening weekend, with predictions placing the film between $160 million and $170 million domestically, and between $340 million and $360 million at the worldwide box office. That would mark the biggest opening for an R-rated film, surpassing 2018’s Deadpool 2.

Deadpool & Wolverine is one of the most anticipated films of 2024 and its Rotten Tomatoes score was revealed ahead of its Friday premiere. The superhero film debuted with a Certified Fresh of 79%. The film received positive reactions after the early screenings but Deadpool & Wolverine‘s new score is the lowest of all three Deadpool films. The 2016 original holds a score of 85%, with the 2018 sequel holding a similar rating of 84%. So far, the audience score hasn’t been revealed but fans couldn’t be more excited. The actors have also praised the film, with Reynolds calling the upcoming superhero installment the “best film I’ve ever done.”

Deadpool & Wolverine hits theaters worldwide on July 26.
