Could 'The Marvels' Have Made More Money at the Box Office? Someone Thinks It Could Have!

As far as the MCU is concerned, The Marvels are cited as one of the recent flops, as the movie earned a mere $206.1 million on a $274.8 million (gross) / $219.8 million (net) budget. Alongside Ant-Man: Quantumania, it has been criticized as a weak new installment and a film that did not move the story forward, which is why most fans dislike the movie as a whole.

It also set the infamous record for being the lowest-grossing film in the MCU and one of the few MCU films not to break even in its theatrical run. Despite some major stars on the list of cast members, as well as some well-known characters, The Marvels failed to deliver, which made a lot of fans sad.

Today, the movie is most often quoted as an example of what not to do, i.e., as an example of what the MCU needs to fix going forward, which is a shame since there are some very interesting characters there. And while the reasons for the film’s failure are numerous, one famous industry insider thinks he knows why the movie failed and how it could have been fixed!

The insider we are talking about is Daniel Richtman, the popular DanielRPK, whom we have quoted in relation to various rumors more than once, so his opinion definitely has some weight to it. Here is what he thinks:

In his opinion, the formula was easy, and Marvel Studios could have avoided this failure at the box office with some simple tweaks that would not have influenced the movie in any way. And while we’re not sure that the film would have broken the $1 billion mark even with these tweaks, it is possible that it would have earned a lot more had Marvel done these things. Some of the fans agree:
