Cardi B has been in Paris this week to celebrate Kulture’s sixth birthday. You would have seen all of this documented on socials if you’ve been following – it’s a group that includes adults and children, flying over together on a private jet, and there was a day spent at Disneyland Paris, and oh yeah, Offset is there too. But, then again, when isn’t he there, right?
We’re talking about this because, if you recall (and I don’t blame you if you don’t because it’s happened so many times now), Cardi said back in December that she and Offset were done. That was just before Christmas; but they were together at New Year’s and afterwards she went on Twitter and was, like, no we’re not back together but I just needed to get “dicked down” on NYE.
From experience, many of us can tell you that it’s hard to make the split stick when the dick is inside and all around. In my opinion, you have to go cold turkey on the dick – and the puss – if you really want to break up with someone.
Needless to say, in the first half of 2024, Cardi and Offset don’t seem at all like they’re broken up. They were seen together for Valentine’s, they partied together after the Met Gala, and now they’re with their kids in Paris, and holding hands on dinner dates. And, on top of that, there are pregnancy rumours.
The speculation started a few weeks ago at the BET Experience when she showed up on stage in a baggy jersey.
Cardi has continued to wear loose-fitting clothes, by her standards anyway, on this trip to Paris. Also flats. When the shoe choices become about comfort… you know there might be something there.
Back in December when Cardi said she’s single, I wrote about how tumultuous her 20s were. Cardi hustled her ass off, got super famous super quickly, and in her personal life, that decade was spent with one person romantically. Now she’s in her 30s, and she tried to make a break from what had defined so much of her 20s, and I talked about how interesting it would be to see what changes might be afoot.
If she is pregnant though, this decade becomes more of an extension of the previous one. She and Offset have two children, so far. They’ve grown up together, they are still, ostensibly, growing together. Perhaps, with more maturity, they can somehow find a way to make it work. Clearly neither one is ready to quit – and this is understandable, they are a family, there’s so much history there, and of course a lot of love. So, optimistically, hopefully they can figure this out. Especially if the rumours are true and there is indeed a baby to celebrate.
