Melissa McBride will reprise her role of Carol Peletier in The Walking Dead spinoff, Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol.
Actress Melissa McBride began her acting career in 1991 when she appeared in commercials for several big-name clients, like Rooms to Go and Ford. In 2007, former Walking Dead showrunner Frank Darabont cast her as the “mother with the kids at home” in the sci-fi horror The Mist. By 2010, she should make her first appearance in AMC’s The Walking Dead as Carol Peletier. What else has she starred in?
McBride will make her highly anticipated return to The Walking Dead universe in the spinoff, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol. This is the second season for the series that has been renewed for seasons 3 and 4.
Melissa McBride – tv shows and movies
Her first TV role was for the ABC legal drama Matlock, which starred Andy Griffith as the title character. This would lead to guest starring roles in several other series, including In the Heat of the Night, American Gothic, Profiler, Walker, and Texas Ranger. During the first season of Dawson’s Creek, she portrays a film buff who charms Dawson after his break-up with Jen. She returned in the season 6 finale as a different character.
Before her role in The Mist, an adaptation of Stephen King’s story, McBride starred in several made for TV movies, including Her Deadly Rival (1995), Close to Danger (1997), Any Place But Home (1997), and Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999).
She was originally cast in a more significant role in Darabont’s The Mist but was working as a casting director, a career she had from 2007 to 2010, and didn’t want to take too much time away from that position. The film also stars fellow Walking Dead actors Laurie Holden (Andrea), Jeffrey DeMunn (Dale), Juan Gabriel Pareja (Martinez), and Sam Witwer (Tank Walker).
McBride has portrayed Carol in the main series beginning in season 1 and as a guest star in a season 4 episode of Fear the Walking Dead. She also appeared in the third episode of co-star Norman Reedus’ motorcycle travel series Ride with Norman Reedus, in which the duo traveled to Ireland.
Fans are eager to see McBride take up the role of Carol again in the Daryl Dixon spinoff that premieres on AMC and AMC+ on September 29, 2024. The series has been renewed and fans are hopeful to see her in the additional seasons.
