Just like in AMC’s The Walking Dead, Sophia also disappears right before the group reaches the Greene family farm in The Walking Dead: Destinies. In the show, she is eventually found among the several walkers roaming around inside Hershel’s barn.
Since the game offers players the opportunity to rewrite the story that many know and love, saving Sophia is one of the first obvious situations that many would like to change. This guide will give players the answers they’re looking for so that they’re aware if there are any choices that they can make in The Walking Dead: Destinies to save Carol’s daughter.
Can You Save Sophia?
The Walking Dead: Destinies allows fans of the series to change the course of history and see what could’ve happened if the characters in the show had acted differently. There are several points in the game where the developers could’ve made it possible for someone to find or save Sophia, especially since Daryl and Carol both have expeditions during which they go out looking for her.
While many fans were hopeful that the developers would make it possible for gamers to find and save Sophia before she was bitten, this was not the case; players cannot save Sophia in The Walking Dead: Destinies. It would’ve been quite interesting to see how differently Carol would’ve turned out if Sophia had been found alive and this would have been the perfect game to show this alternative story.
How to Find Sophia
Players will find Sophia during Pretty Much Dead Already, Act 2 Episode 9. After finding out that Hershel keeps dozens of walkers inside his barn, Shane makes it clear that the group needs to take out or leave the farm.
Players will have to retrieve the fire axe in order to break open the barn door. It’s not possible to avoid detection and complete this mission quietly, players must eliminate every walker in sight. Sophia will be the very last walker to make their way out of the barn. Just like one of the most heartbreaking scenes in The Walking Dead, Rick puts the girl out of her misery by shooting her in the head.
