The phrase “stranger than fiction” gets thrown around a lot these days. And sometimes, it can be a little difficult to tell what’s real and what’s just an elaborate satire piece. But for all of those Skibidi Toilet fans out there, you can rest assured that the TV and movie rumors are, in fact, real.

Skibidi Toilet Is Not For Everyone

Skibidi Toilet might not be everyone’s cup of tea or bowl, but you’re going to have to get used to seeing more and more of it. In a recent episode of Variety’s Strictly Business podcast, former Paramount Pictures president Adam Goodman shared some jaw-dropping news.

While discussing the uber-popular Skibidi Toilet series, Goodman acknowledged that a franchise is in the works. “We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side,” Goodman said on the podcast. “But it’s not a be-all, end-all for us.”

Prepare For Bayhem

Goodman isn’t alone in his quest for a Skibidi Toilet movie and TV franchise. Longtime Hollywood director and producer Michael Bay is onboard the viral lavatory train as well. The pair are currently working with writers while developing treatments for a TV series and a movie.

Bay isn’t exactly a stranger when it comes to adapting existing IP (Intellectual Property) into multi-million dollar franchises. Besides his Transformers franchise, Bay has also worked with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Purge franchises.

The Start Of A Franchise

Goodman and Bay teaming up with a viral sensation shouldn’t come as a surprise to anybody. The duo are the brains behind the Independent studio Invisible Narratives. The studio aims to create long-lasting, original franchises based around social media influencers.

As perhaps one of the hottest influencers of online content today, it makes sense for Alexey Gerasimov to team up with Goodman and Bay. Gerasimov is the mastermind behind the YouTube channel responsible for the Skibidi Toilet craze.

A YouTube Sensation

For anyone who may have been sleeping under a toilet for the past year, Skibidi Toilet is a collection of YouTube videos. The series features an ongoing battle between two separate factions: a band of toilets equipped with human heads and humanoid beings with heads made from electronics.

As the series continues to grow, the lore expands to greater and greater heights. Skibidi Toilet features a multi-narrative format with several distinct characters. To produce the shorts, Gersaimov utilizes Source Filmmaker, a free Valve-published 3D computer graphics software.

More Views Than Star Trek: Discovery

Gersamimov uploaded the first entry into the Skibidi Toilet series in February 2023. Since then, the channel has produced over 70 videos in the series. The most popular entry is a YouTube short that has collected over 319 million views in less than a year.

The Generation Alpha demographic, born between the early 2010s and 2024, is driving the series’ popularity. As the series’ popularity continues to grow, its impact on pop culture will grow as well. “Skibidi” is currently mystifying older generations as they struggle to understand its meaning and slang usage.

With 43 million subscribers on YouTube, the social media phenomenon is not going away anytime soon. You don’t have to like it, but you have to accept it. A Skibidi Toilet movie is coming soon to a theater near you.
