The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 2 episode 5 is set to continue the zombie show. The series is the fifth scripted spinoff from the original graphic novel adaptation that has aired on AMC. In addition to featuring the return of Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), the show features a brand-new ensemble cast fleshing out the world of post-apocalyptic France, including Clémence Poésy, Louis Puech Scigliuzzi, Laïka Blanc-Francard, Anne Charrier, Romain Levi, Adam Nagaitis, and Joel de la Fuente.
It was renewed for a second season, The Book of Carol, in July 2023, the month before it officially premiered on September 10, 2023. Due to an agreement between AMC and the Screen Actors Guild, the show was able to continue filming during the 2023 strike and the second season premiered on September 29, 2024. Daryl Dixon season 2 reviews have earned the second installment an even better Rotten Tomatoes score than the first, with a 75% score besting the previous season’s 70%, though that season was Certified Fresh and the current one is not at the time of writing.

It Continues The Walking Dead Show’s Weekly Schedule
Daryl and Carol’s Walking Dead reunion continues with the upcoming episode 5, “Vouloir, C’est Pouvoir” (or, “Wanting is Power”). Episode 5, which was written by Jason Richman and David Zabel, will premiere on AMC on October 27 at 9:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. CT. However, it will play at other times in overseas territories, including the UK, when it premieres on Sky Max on November 1 at 9:00 p.m. BST.
How Long Daryl Dixon Season 2 Is (& When The Finale Airs)
It Matches Season 1
Just like the previous season, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon – The Book of Carol will run for a total of six episodes. The premiere is set to continue the weekly schedule of the show, premiering on AMC on November 3 at 9:00 p.m. ET and 8:00 p.m. CT. This will allow the new season to bookend Halloween – which takes place on October 31 – with its two final episodes.
Daryl Dixon season 1 premiered earlier in September, so it ended on October 15, 2023, more than two full weeks before the holiday.
Additionally, The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon season 3 has already been renewed. The episode order is currently unknown, however, given the precedent set by the show and the other spinoffs from the flagship zombie program, it seems likely that it will also run for six episodes. Season 3 kicked off production in Spain in August 2024, so it will likely be on schedule to continue the series tradition of premiering in September, though it may also premiere earlier in 2025.
