They will face each other on November 15
Mike Tyson wasn’t moved by Jake Paul‘s attempt at a goodwill gesture before their upcoming fight on November 15 at Cowboys Stadium, which will be streamed on Netflix. Known for giving his opponents unique gifts ahead of big matches, Paul presented Tyson with an exotic Southeast Asian pigeon worth thousands.
But Tyson, unimpressed, reportedly joked that he might just feed the bird to his pet falcon.
“This looks like a low budget pedigree,” Tyson said. “No one loves him he has no bands or anything. He doesn’t belong to nobody. I’ll feed him to my falcon.”
Fan reaction
Clearly, Paul‘s plan to win Mike Tyson over with a lavish present didn’t go quite as he’d hoped, with fans taking to social media to react.
“That’s a pretty unique gift! Bet Tyson’s falcon is thrilled,” an X user wrote.
Another added: “You guys may not know but Mike said he was bullied as a young lonely kid. He had pet pigeons as a kid till bullies one day came and killed them as a joke and made him cry as a child. Was a triggering moment for him.”
“Jake better watch out. If Mike’s feeding pigeons to falcons, he might just be warming up for the main course!” a third warned Paul.
In their most recent pre-fight media appearance, Iron Mike showed a more intense, focused demeanor, revealing a serious side as the fight approaches.
“He dreams a lot, this is not going to come true young man,” Tyson noted.
“Next week we will see… I think he thinks this is going to be a pretty easy night but this is not going to be an easy night for you.”
