Will Smith and Martin Lawrence embarrassed themselves while promoting their upcoming film Bad Boys: Ride or Die by claiming that men should sit down when they pee to stop the bathroom becoming a mess.

During a segment for LAD Bible, both Smith and Lawrence are asked to agree or disagree if men should also sit down when they pee in order to stop the bathroom becoming a mess.

Lawrence immediately disagrees. However, Smith moves his glass to agree and explains, “I think, especially after leg day, right? ‘Cause I had an experience with this. And it was like 3 o’clock in the morning and I had to pee, and nobody was in there but me, so I sat down.”

Lawrence responded, “There ain’t nothing really wrong with that. Ain’t nothing really wrong with that, but I think you have to, you know, sometime-. I agree with standing up and holding your slonker.”

Smith then concurred, “Yes, yes. ‘Cause it’s more manly. I think it is more manly. It’s more manly, but I think that, you know, there’s grey area. There’s grey area in this.”

Lawrence then stated, “If you got to go real bad, real bad, and you’re rushing then you might have to sit.”

Smith added, “Especially if you’re over 50 and you don’t want to have to clean the floor up and everything.”

After this Lawrence was convinced and he moved his cup from disagree to agree saying, “Yeah. Okay, okay. Then I agree.”

Smith then elaborated, “‘Cause sometimes, you know, after a certain age you’ll get that double stream, you know. You don’t know which way it’s going to go. And you just try to put the thicker stream into the toilet. You know, until it opens up and pops into a single.”

While, this is clearly part of the press tour for the film, it’s unlikely that publicly embarrassing yourself like this will help the film’s box office performance. And the film needs as many people to buy tickets as possible given Sony currently projects the film to only make $30 million. However, Shawn Robbins of Box Office Theory predicts the film will gross between $45 million and $55 million in the domestic market.

Interestingly, Deadline notes that the film was originally tracking for an opening debut of $50 million based on presales, but it was adjusted downwards in “recent days.”

According to World of Reel the film has a $100 million budget, which means it needs to gross at least $250 million globally to break even. On Thursday night, the film only raked in $5.9 million indicating it might not be able to break even.

The most recent Bad Boys film, Bad Boys For Life, which debuted in 2020, had an opening weekend of $62.5 million. It went on to gross $204.4 million in the domestic market and another $220 million internationally for a global gross of $424.4 million.

That film had a $90 million budget and was easily able to surpass its break even point of $225 million.

Bad Boys: Ride or Die is currently in theaters.
