Who Is Benedict Bridgerton’s Wife in the Book?

Like every previous season of Bridgerton, Benedict’s will be based on Julia Quinn’s An Offer from a Gentleman. Though many see it as a simple Cinderella retelling, the novel goes far beyond the familiar story to offer a very passionate (and somewhat morally questionable) love story.

While we are sure Netflix will rewrite the plot to fit the charming and sweet Benedict we know and love from the show, the character of Sophie Beckett is very much loved as she is. The bastard daughter of a lord who never really accepted her, she ended up as a servant to the evil stepmother and two stepsisters after his death. Sounds familiar, right?

She meets Benedict at the Masquerade Ball, where she sneaks in as a Lady in Silver. Known for eluding every single Lady of the Ton, Benedict falls head over heels for this one, but cannot find her the next day. Thus begins his search for the love of his life.

Without spoiling every single detail, the story ends so twisted that you will surely forget the Cinderella element by the end. However, the beginning of the fairy tale is now set in stone, as Bridgerton season 3 has already mentioned that the ball will take place.

Who Is Going to Play Sophie Beckett in Bridgerton?

Now that everyone is sure that Sophie Beckett is coming our way, fans are left guessing who will be cast to portray her. In the past, many suspected it to be Masali Baduza, but she appeared in the season 3 finale as the love interest of another Bridgerton sibling, Michaela Stirling.

For now, Sophie’s casting is being kept under wraps, leaving Benophie fans just as in the dark as Benedict, trying to figure out the identity of his dream lady.
