How is Cressida connected to Benedict’s love interest?

The third season of Bridgerton has come to an end and we will have to wait too long for a new chapter – two years.

So let’s at least speculate and try to predict what will happen in the fourth chapter.

1. Benedict Will Be the Main Character of Season 4

Benedict will most likely be the main character of the next season, for several reasons. First, in the final episode of Season 3 , Eloise says that she will be back home by the time the masquerade ball begins, to which he replies that he will be at the event as well, probably hiding from annoying brides.

The book An Offer from a Gentleman by Julia Quinn begins with a masquerade ball at which Benedict meets Sophie, a girl of noble birth now forced to work as a maid for a wealthy family.

Even if Benedict does not become the main character of the fourth season, Jess Brownell, Bridgerton’s showrunner, hinted that they may still “play” with him. The plot could focus on Eloise or Francesca – Eloise’s story in the books is chronologically linked to Colin’s.

2. Bridgerton Family Members to Appear in Season 4

At the end of the third season, two members of the family left London at once: Eloise, Francesca and her new husband John went to Scotland. If the fourth season is dedicated to Benedict, it is unlikely that viewers will see the sisters’ adventures. It is likely that the trip to Scotland will remain behind the scenes.

As for Eloise, she will most likely return home for the masquerade ball, as promised. But will the trip change the rebel? In the books, she starts a family, but the screenwriters are able to make adjustments in the story of the most freedom-loving representative of the Bridgertons.

Fans of Polin will most likely see how the spouses are engaged in writing and raising children. Kate and Anthony are also unlikely to disappear – after all, the older brother always keeps an eye on the younger Bridgertons.

Phoebe Dynevor did not return as Daphne in the third season. However, the actress has hinted that she may return to the series in the future. Perhaps the older sister will appear in new episodes to give valuable advice to the younger generation or announce a new addition to the family.

3. Penelope Will Continue to Write

In the original novels, Lady Whistledown is much less important to the plot than in the series. After Penelope reveals the truth about her alter ego to all of London society, the gossip column gradually disappears from the books, and Pen herself seems more absorbed in marriage and motherhood.

However, there is still no reason to believe that the creators of Bridgerton will abandon Julie Andrews’ signature voice, and Penelope herself is unlikely to disappear from the series entirely – as we saw in the third season finale, Pen only got rid of her pseudonym, but decided to continue writing. It will be especially interesting to see how this storyline will transform with these changes.

4. Cressida Will Return

At the end of the third season, Cressida finds herself an outcast. The girl tries to avoid a marriage of convenience with an old man by pretending to be Lady Whistledown. Her friendship with Eloise comes to an end, and her plans to remain an unmarried girl in high society fail – her father takes away Cressida’s dowry and sends her to her aunt in the Welsh countryside.

In the books, the young lady marries Lord Twombley, who soon dies, leaving his wife penniless. It is quite possible that the show’s creators will rewrite the girl’s story. After all, Cressida is no longer an absolute villain, which means that the writers may be favorable to her fate.

5. The Cowper Family Will Be Connected to Benedict’s Love Story

There is also an interesting theory: some fans believe that Cressida is related to Sophie, Benedict’s future love interest.

This idea was prompted by a post on social networks by Grace Gorman, a wig artist, who revealed the name of Lady Cowper – Araminta, which is the name of Sophie’s stepmother in the books. If the fans are right, Cressida may not only appear in the new season, but also play an important role in Benedict’s story.
