The Fallout TV show is missing one essential element from the video games, and here is how aliens could influence the show going forward.
Although it may sound strange, the release of Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout TV show has caused all kinds of questions regarding whether aliens actually exist in Fallout. Although the world of Fallout is full of wacky sci-fi creatures and technology, aliens may seem a step too far, with them not being discussed in the TV show. However, the history of aliens in the Fallout franchise may seem surprising, so here is everything that there is to know about extraterrestrials in the video game series.
Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout TV show is finally here, with the highly anticipated adaptation of the beloved video game franchise of the same name now released in full on the streaming service. The Fallout TV show is finally able to bring the iconic world of the wasteland to live-action, with the series following three characters from different corners of the Fallout universe: Lucy the Vault Dweller, Maximus the Brotherhood of Steel squire, and Cooper Howard the Ghoul. However, the universe of Fallout may be even bigger than this.
Aliens Exist In The Fallout Video Games
As it turns out, aliens do exist in the Fallout video games. Aliens have been around ever since the first Fallout game, with players being able to encounter a crashed UFO in the debut title. Although several different unnamed alien species can be found throughout the franchise, the Zetan aliens are the most commonly seen ones, with their lore and history being built up throughout the creatures’ appearances in the Fallout games.
The next alien references come in Fallout 2, in which players can use an alien gun while also learning that the Sierra Army Depot was built using alien technology. Fallout 3 contains an entire line of sidequests centered around an alien invasion, Fallout 4 features another crashed UFO, and Fallout 76 even features an entire alien invasion.
Could Aliens Appear In The Fallout Show?
Since aliens are canon to the Fallout universe, it would be entirely possible to have them appear in the Fallout TV show. The Fallout show has had no problem leaning into the weirder aspects of Fallout, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see aliens pop up at some point, even if they aren’t part of the show’s main story.
The most likely way for aliens to influence the Fallout show wouldn’t be to have them appear in the flesh. Instead, it seems more likely that Lucy, Maximus, and the rest of the gang could encounter references to alien history or even use alien technology. Aliens play a big role in the universe of Fallout, and it is possible that they could come to influence the TV show in some way.
